Lord Empanada Menu – Monrovia, CA

Type : Argentinian restaurant

Location : Monrovia, CA

Lord Empanada was founded in Los Angeles by the Lopez family in August 2020, simply starting out as a popup selling Empanadas & Chimichurri at various breweries and street fairs. Their Empanadas and Chimichurri were a huge hit, and just a little over a year they were able to open a brick & mortar in Monrovia, CA to keep up with demand. Staying true to their roots from a small village in Argentina, known as Córdoba, Lord Empanada offers a variety of authentic Argentine cuisine, such as Empanadas, Chimichurri, Choripan, Matambre, Milanesa, and Chile Verde. They also offer delicious Breakfast Empanadas and Sandwiches to get your day started off right.

Been wanting to go try this place out and was finally able to go. It was definitely worth the trip. The empanadas are not that big and I recommend at least 3 per person. Between my wife, son and myself we had 10 empanadas (including the dessert ones) and a sandwich with fries. There are about 8 booths to eat there. The only thing is the parking is limited and I wish they had an A/C instead of a swamp cooler.

Man o’ man. This place is no joke. Super nice folks, INCREDIBLE empañadas: Fluffy dough and scalding hot, they’re nice and big, the asada and the Al pastor were delicious. The salsas are tremendous as well. At $3.75 a piece as of April 2023, it’s a delicious inexpensive lunch – I recommend 2 or 3 and you’ll be full and satisfied! Worth the trip.

Some of the best empanadas I’ve ever had! Tried 4 and all were amazing. Planning to come back before I leave LA.

Poor quality beef being sold here … the beef stroganoff for $20 was dismal … bad beef , arteries & veins … empanadas were ok . But the $74 I spent here made me feel bad , due to the quality & service.. wouldn’t recommend, I’m not sure why they got praise … sauces had sticks n stems in them , bad quality all around ..BEWARE !

Went here just because of the existing rating which is high, but boy did I make the right choice tried 5 of their variety of empanadas and all of them were delicious. Can’t wait to go back.

We are from Argentina and know what is authentic. This is not it. The milanesa sandwich especially was terrible! The meat was fried till almost black. The place is not staffed by Argentines either. Also way too expensive for what we got. There are better places to eat if you want Argentine food.

Got to Lord Empanadas around 7pm. I was afraid they’d have a limited selection so close to closing but they had everything we wanted. Great service, the lovely cashier was warm and welcoming and gave recommendations for items on their menu. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes. Empanadas were crispy on the outside and warm on the inside. Would come back for their fries, sandwiches and beer selection.

After we finished with breakfast and shopping around I told my wife I wanna go to Lord Empanadas not that far away where we are and then we headed to get some delicious empanadas. My wife and I enjoy empanadas very much we try different style of empanadas from Mexico,Argentina, etc. The empanadas has expanded in many ways that have become very popular especially Argentina empanadas if you like bake or fried everybody has their favorite empanadas.

We found the empanadas very tasty. I have been here twice and both times the food was very good. I will be back. I want to try the desserts. They look so delicious! The employers are cheerful and helpful. It has a family feel with family pictures and memorabilia on the wall. Parking can be tricky, but I understand there is parking across the street.

I travel a lot and I think these are probably the best empanadas I’ve ever had. I tried 5 different savory ones and 2 different sweet ones. They were ALL amazing. My favorite were the al pastor and the birria. Both sweet ones were good but the cheesecake was beyond. For all of them the crust is think, crispy and flaky.
