First visit and the experience was delightful. The Cafe was filled with locals with a “where everyone knows your name feel.” I ordered a Thanksgiving in July type of special, consisting of Turkey/dressing with my choice of 2 sides (succotash/sweet potato casserole). It was perfect! The price was right, also.

First timer, omg, Rose is the best, and got to meet Mrs. Roz, the owner. The conversation was the best, talking about old-school cooking and it’s the place to eat. I love liver n onions, having a conversation with Mrs. Roz about it was like my Mom teaching me how to cook. I’M GOING BACK ASAP

My gosh what a hidden gem in old Mechanicsville. Went this morning for the first time with my mom and we’re pleasantly greeted by everyone including Roz herself as we came in and chose a table. The menu has excellent breakfast and lunch choices that are priced to please anyone. The food is DELICIOUS FOLKS! We had breakfast and ordered one of the lunch specials Togo and couldn’t be more impressed with the flavor and portions. WOW was my thought with each bite of my scrambled eggs we had the best experience here, we loved the charm of the diner and it being in the pharmacy feels so very old school and small townlike. It’s simply charming. The breakfast/lunch diner in a pharmacy how lucky are we to have this nostalgic charming little slice of the heavens. We can’t wait to go back!

Great home cooking with super reasonable prices. Kind of a time capsule with a loyal following of older locals. Breakfast is always done properly. Ample portions and everything made to order. If you like “lunch counters” and retro vibes, this is a great option.
