First time eating here. We were camping nearby and wanted to have a meal somewhere new. Pretty quiet but it was a Wednesday night. Got served pretty quickly. Went to play a song on thr jukebox and didn’t realize the TV playing loudly next to it wasn’t connected. You could hear the one song I played in the background but much quieter. Staff were busy getting food cooked up and since song wasn’t very long, I just let it play. Could hear it a little.

Rumors has that home town feel when you come in even if you aren’t from town you feel like you are. I eat here often and I have always had an enjoyable meal. Cassi has a variety of sandwiches and I have eaten many of them. She has a fish special on fridays. Prime rib on Saturday which is consistently delicious. The service has always been friendly and efficient. Cassi works hard at providing her customers with good food and service so I think that Rumors is definitely a good place eat.

Service was terrible. Never asked how our food was, if we needed drinks, couldn’t hear our waitress, etc. Appetizers came out with our food. We ordered the all you can eat fish which was not only soggy but we didn’t get the sauce that comes with it. We had some other server come over who got our sauce for us and asked if we needed anything and how our food was. Went to pay and the same lady who asked how everything was asked how everything was and if we were happy with it. We told her and she felt sorry for us. The boss, who has been nothing but rude to us every time we are there, ripped a $20 out of my hand as we were trying to give a tip that they didn’t deserve and told our waiter “it’s fine don’t even worry about it” We will not be coming back.

The party I was with not only had to wait an hour for only part of our order, but the waitress was rude and even had an attitude when asked a question. It wasn’t busy and tables were dirty from the time we walked in but the same tables were dirty when we left. The whole restaurant was dirty, floors, chairs, high chairs were very gross. Usually when you are running a special like the fish usually you would have that ready when the rest of the party’s food was as well not 10 minutes later and serve people that came in after us 3 baskets of fish before we got ours. I will not be returning. And just a tip if your going to do a fish special I would learn how to cook it so it’s not dry and overly crispy.

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in small town Sutherland,Iowa The service is good. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is really good! Highly recommend the prime rib on Fridays and the chicken strip basket!!

Food is pretty good, when there’s not a foreign object in with it, service is very slow. Long wait after you place your order, and you’ll see other tables receive their food before everyone in your party has their food. ♂️

I ordered 8 pieces of broasted chicken and a order of broasted potatoes. Unfortunately the oil was way past it’s prime making it impossible to eat. I don’t like to waste anything so I just tore off the breading and deboned the chicken to eat in sandwiches. The bartender and the kitchen staff were so nice though very cool people with great customer service.

Have always had good food. Unfortunately we ordered chicken to go and when we came to pick it up, our order had been given to someone else that ordered less chicken. Would have had to wait 45 minutes for another one. Organization could have easily avoided this. Too bad.
