Good place if you like extra protein in the form of a cockroach. No bathroom available. What little I ate of the food tasted good, but instantly lost appetite when the cockroach crawled across the table. Not the floor, not the walls… On my table. Unacceptable. I’d advise people to find a better Mexican restaurant in the area than Hugo’s.

I love searching for good Mexican food. I travel around the county for work and decided to try Vaqueras. I got there and they were closed because it is Monday so I found this cute little place and decided to give it a try. I got the carne asada burrito and I was not disappointed. Before it came they brought a bowl of chips with some hot bean dip. This always elevates my experience in a restaurant.

We ordered two breakfast burritos to go, sounds simple enough. When we arrived to pick them up the two TOTALLED $50! We had asked for one veggie and one with meat, no explaination just a ridiculous bill, should have walked out!

Delicious authentic Mexican food in Santa Maria. Nestled inside a little strip mall it is easy to overlook. They have this amazing surf and turf burrito ( tuco burrito) that I highly recommend.
