This place is sooo good!! I got the Early bird sandwich, with slaw and mac n cheese. The mac n cheese was perfect as well as the cold slaw! The owner is very kind and friendly and made us feel very welcomed. Highly recommend

I didn’t get a picture but I got the three meat combo with two sides and thought EVERYTHING was amazing. The Brisket is the best I’ve ever had, the pulled pork and ribs were GREAT too. Mac and cheese was amazing. I can not wait to go back this weekend! So glad I found this place! There is a lot of mediocre BBQ put there. This place IS DEFINITELY NOT that! Honestly though it was some of the best all around I’ve had in a long time!

We went back to Newport for an event a year later, and everything was still fantastic! I completely agree with my review from a year ago. This place was totally legit!! I had a long, hard day of work and was craving BBQ. Google showed this place was close to me. It was only 10 minutes before they closed and you never know what kind of BBQ you will get from a place about to close but this was awesome. The people working there were super friendly and whoever is working the pit is a master. The brisket was perfect. The tug test was spot on and the flavor awesome. The ribs had just the right chew and great flavor. The beans were outstanding, I loved the mac-n-cheese and the potato salad had just the right amount of pickle. The big piece of corn bread must have had a stick of butter in it. Just awesome… And I was asked what kind of sauce I wanted? Spicy, regular or mustard? I said they all sounded good so she said, no problem here is one of each. Memphis style BBQ and unbelievably good for a place that closed its doors as I walked out. Iam a big eater and I am stuffed! I applaud you all. Nicely done! A+++++

The entire staff is very friendly. The pulled pork was great, which is hard to find in California.

Don’t come here if you need catering. Our work placed order 24 hours in advance. We show up to pickup our order at scheduled time, and nothing ready. No apology. No empathy. No nothing. The food has already been paid for by our company, so we were stuck while they spent the next 30 mins trying to put our food together. Awful, get your BBQ craving taken care of somewhere else.

Excellent bbq. The pork ribs are the best thing they’ve got. Note that you’ll either get the meaty end of the slab or the boney end of the slab. To get the meaty end, ask for the “bigger pieces of rib”, which nicely falls off the bone. Otherwise ask for the “smaller pieces of rib”, which are still good but don’t fall off the bone. Either way they still give you the same weight of ribs overall. The pulled pork is the second best thing and is very moist and flavorful The chicken is great and moist. The brisket is good. The Louisiana sausage is better than the andouille sausage. They offer a variety of homemade sauces at the table. The mac n cheese is excellent. The coleslaw is not as good as the complimentary pickled cabbage. The beans are average, the potato salad is average. The cornbread is nice and moist.

Made me super sick. Felt like I was dosed with something honestly, it was that gross. It was empty inside the restaurant and now I see why. Learn from me and Do not eat here. -David
