Perhaps we were there on a bad night, but for us it turned into a self-service experience. Our waitress was initially very friendly and efficient, but it seems some family friends came in, and we instantaneously became invisible. We had to track down the other very busy waitress for drink refills, a dessert for our daughter, and check. We were able to save money on the tip, but that didn’t make up for what ended up being a generally unpleasant evening.

I’m very disappointed with the service again. We used to visit weekly but the service is not pleasing to us anymore. Yesterday we waited over forty minutes for our food. Other couples came in after we were seated but received their food before we did. I had to ask the waitress what’s taking so long for us to get our food. The waitress said yeah I know but I’ll go in the kitchen and help them. Within five minutes another server brought our food to the table. The waitress did discount our ticket but it’s not about the money it’s about the service. Highly upset about the way we were overlooked compared to the other customers

So let me say this a diamond in the ruff. Honestly you would drive pass it. It was a nice low key establishment. Nothing fancy tucked away in a odd spot. We were on a hunt for seafood since the first place tanked. We arrived they sat us immediately only one waitress working who was a beast(Joney). She was on it didn’t miss a beat and made us feel like the only guess on a relatively busy Friday evening. They hush puppies were delish. However the food was okay. We order the sampler appetizers which was decent all fried. Then the three choice, crab cluster and beer wine. Overall it was good! But the food was a bit lacking in flavor. But again great customer service excellent service. For her to be the only one she is priceless. That alone will warrant a second chance.

Went late in the day. Perhaps that is why the trout was not seasoned and string beans tasted like they were out of the can. Will try one more time because my friend raved over jumbo shrimp and scallops. The regular shrimp are tiny and the salmon patty was not as good as my mom’s. But the hushpuppies and lemonade were excellent.

If you blink you might miss it! Nestled in the middle of a small town strip mall is a GEM of a seafood restaurant. I discovered “Off The Hook Seafood Restaurant” purely by accident but in that one day it stole my heart and quickly became my FAVORITE. As a Google guide, I always do my best not only to write reviews but to also not over exaggerate my comments. However, this place deserves all the raves and praise that I’m writing about. Firstly, the food was not only delicious but super fresh. The facade of the building and interior are truly modest but don’t let that fool nor deter you. Secondly, the fried oysters were to die for. I have eaten in a lot of restaurants across the world and never would have known that in my own backyard lied a place that would rival with some of the best seafood that I have tasted. Simple, pure, and fresh. Lastly, the service was great, big shout outs to Joani. Her attentiveness was outstanding and it was obvious that she not only loved her job but was proud of what she was serving. (a rarity) the atmosphere is one of nostalgia. All the patrons were speaking with one another and it was an absolute joy to find such happy customers all in one place. In conclusion; I challenge anyone to prove my review wrong and to all others I will say, do yourself a favor and try the taste test. Happy eating!

What a wonderful find. Knowing nothing of this town, we asked about somewhere to eat lunch. This place was highly recommended to us so we decided to try it. Walking in the door, we were welcomed. The atmosphere was cheery and inviting. We ordered jumbo shrimp plates with coleslaw and fries. I’m picky about my coleslaw and this was really good. The shrimp was wonderful. I also highly recommend this place. After our meals and before our long ride home, we made a trip into the rest rooms, they were a huge surprise as they had ocean scenes painted on the walls. The staff was super friendly and appreciative of us and our comments on the food and on the place. So if you’re heading near Rolesville, NC, stop and check them out!
