This is a must try. DO NOT let the exterior or simplicity of the decor full you. This place is unpretentious and that’s what is great about it. Uncle Grube’s can cook, and everything in the place looked delicious. The Pit beef was delectable. They bottle their BBQ sauce as it’s amazing. Try the Pot beef with some horseradish sauce…mmm mmm good!!!

Has some good food there. The ribs and bbw sandwich are good. The side of baked beans are great. The pit beef is a little dry at most times. Place is at best mediocre at being clean. Some food seems to be microwaved? The owner Steve is nice though won’t hand you back your change or card but will throw it back at you.

Based on the reviews decided to give this place a go over lunch instead of hitting Mission BBQ. Well, not sure what the excitement is about. The place seems to be run out of the back of what appears to (used to be??) someone’s house on the side of the road with 3-4 parking spaces in front of the smoker and outdoor seating area. The inside has their menu (fairly limited), 3-4 small tables, and a tall counter where you order. They have a side condiments area with a squeeze bottle of one type of BBQ sauce (not notable), some ketchup, and utensils. Fridge with canned drinks or cups for tea (get ice out of a cooler). Payment was fine and staff wasn’t particularly friendly but efficient and totally fine. The food arrived in about 5 minutes. Because inside was already full (probably holds less than 20 patrons) we ate outside where there are no condiments or napkins. The food was OK but nothing special – soggy (not crispy) fries and the meat was a little dry. The price is probably 10-15% less than other places, but I didn’t feel the variety of choices was enough to go back often, the quality was less than other similar places, and the venue definitely much less nice. Not a bad experience and could see the attraction if you are close by and/ or like eating outside on a picnic table, but not my scene or worth a special effort.

Had pulled pork. Was cool. Def had a unique flavor for a sweet pulled pork (def old bay added to the rub). I’d try it again. Side of the road shack style joint which is cool. Fries were good. Need more drink options. If u gonna have canned sodas u should have everything. Jmo. My son works out not far from there sometimes if I’m in the gym and hungry this would be one of my first options.

I’m sure this is a tasty spot to eat at and a local favorite. But they are never in stock with menu items. So if you go to visit, be sure to have back plans. Don’t get your heart set on a specific item, the business is only open for 5 hours and they will sell out of certain food items.

I recently had a bachelor party at my house and I bought 8 beef sandwiches for some early arrivals. Everyone loved them! The homemade sauce is the best I’ve had, and the meat is always tender and full of flavor. Everyone who works there, especially Dave Gruber, is friendly and I love the atmosphere.

Wife just got home with $30 in food, ate 1 bite of my full rack of ribs and threw it out. They were some of the toughest and worst ribs I have ever had. My wife liked the Pulled Pork. Would not reccomend.

Uncle Grube’s is off the beaten path, but has surprisingly good quality, tasty food. The flavor of bbq lured me inside when I drove past the first time. Uncle Grube was cooking and serving up food on my first visit. A cordial, down-to-earth gentleman. The baked beans and coleslaw are like homemade. Ohhhh Yum! My favorite is the turkey sandwich on a bun. Though I prefer carryout, there is a small dine-in area and there’s outside dining at picnic-type tables. I see patrons mostly during the lunchtime.

This restaurant is no doubt one of the most attractive place in the region. Every time I go there I am truly pleased. They hold their high level service and the highest level of food they serve. You always win with this place. Very recommended.
