Antica Roma is a new restaurant that is in the old Michelangelo restaurant but these two are not the same. We live around the corner from this restaurant and figured it must have been a re-branding but it’s far from that. Michelangelo’s was terrible but Antica Roma is homestyle Italian food right out of Italy.

The chef personally came to greet us and explain us the new menu. The server was super attentive. We went for lunch on Friday and it was not busy. They bring bruschettas and bread before you order. Our pasta dishes were delicious and extra filling, I couldn’t finish mine. The chef gifted us dessert, extra recomendable ❤️

Absolutely delicious meal and 10/10 service. I ordered the carbonara and my boyfriend ordered the gnocchi with Alfredo sauce. Our server also brought out a wonderful plate of bruschetta and basket of bread for an appetizer. I have not found any other restaurant that I enjoy this much here in SLC! Definitely recommend!

I visited Antica Roma, they have a new chef and I was impressed by the flavors, gnocchi and ravioli are a must. They also have carbonara, is a simple dish but is authentic, finally I ate carbonara with pecorino cheese and not with parmesano like everyone else around here, it is the best I have, better than the ones I tried in NY and Boston!

A typical Italian place with an exceptional service from young ladies but an average food. Ordered tomato soup which was good but the past left a little more to be desired. It was my first time in SLC and i wanted to try more places to see how they compare to his one.

Fantastic gnocchi, and service. Loved the bruschetta and bread brought out when we sat down. The gnocchi is made in house, and their Roma antica sauce was pleasant and smooth. Will be back often I hope. So glad to see a place that deserves to be seen so busy the night I went (and service was solid even with all the business, so that was wonderful). Thanks!

I had the chickpea soup and it tasted like pure spice. They were very accommodating and got me a different soup that I could eat. The tomato soup was excellent, as well as the brushetta.

Avoid this horrific “authentic” restaurant.

This place is fantastic, I haven’t had authentic Italian food in awhile and this place just did everything for me. I went in at the perfect time I guess, because they just added a new chef, his name is Roberto. They also just got done with some new renovations that made the entire ambiance just delightful. if you’re downtown and you’re craving a quiet romantic night out look no further than Antica Roma!

Good Italian food, right off of main, better to walk to from city creek. Their gnocchi was really good!
