Ive been here a few times and I’ve always had already experience. This time was no different. Our server was quick and friendly. Our orders came out very quickly and was cooked to perfection. Everything was perfect. I definitely recommend this place. It’s one of the best in the area for sure.

The food was fantastic. I had blackened Talapia and it was just right. Onion rings were very good as well. Service seemed a little slow, however we did have a party of 13. We went during lunch on a Wednesday. It was not crowded at all. Nice atmosphere. Definitely recommended.

Very disappointed for lunch on Tues, Jan 31. My wife had the special, fried chicken with fried okra and mac & cheese. Me, small garden salad with blackened shrimp. Apparently the owner and one waitress were working the floor and service proved to be lacking. Not enough staff? Chicken breast looked good upon delivery but proved to be quite over cooked and dry. Okra was very good, but the mac & cheese was nothing to write home about. My salad was unremarkable and small, even for a lunch size. And the shrimp, while seasoned just right, were also terribly over cooked. We visit Jake’s a few of times a year when we are in Ashland, an extra drive for something special. So, hopefully these kinks will get worked out soon and they get back to their usual good food and service.

Went on a Sunday at about noon. It was busy but they were handling guests efficiently. They had meat and three (or two or four). My husband got the pot roast and I got fried chicken. Both were very good. The waitress was very nice. Cute area of Alex City but not too far from 280. Definitely recommend.

My husband and I stopped here for dinner while in Alexander City for the night (driving through to FL). The atmosphere is casual (which I love), prices were modest and the service was fantastic. Had the special Strip steak and my husband had the ribeye. Both were delicious and prepared exactly to order. There were alot of locals there and you can tell they felt welcome and at home. I LOVE that in a restaurant. Thanks, Jake’s team for the fantastic service. We’ll make sure to drop in again next time we’re in town. (Jake’s was recommended by the innkeeper at Mistletoe Bough B&B).

Chicken Alfredo had a different Alfredo sauce, not really creamy more like American cheese melted than Alfredo sauce. Hubby had a burger and it was very good.
