Waitress was fantastic! Wish I had her name! She does also work in a daycare and was great with my grandson! All the food was pretty good except my hot dog looked liked it was microwaved and not grilled or even boiled. Plus, it was noticeable the bun was cut from what must of been for a foot long. No music at all playing until our waitress turned on her own oldies music in the kitchen. Sadly the place needs updated. The booths are broken down, it looks pretty dingy, dirty and so run down. If only a bit of revamping could be done, I would think it would help bring in a lot more customers. The other thing, $38.19 for 2 adults and a child! Pricey for the food and conditions! I also recommend, get with the times and make a mixed basket of your appetizers.

I have wanted to try Porky’s for a few years now. A few weeks ago, I decided to take my wife there for lunch on our anniversary. The parking lot was full of motorcycles, so we decided to get the food to go, instead of waiting for a seat. We were told it would be about 30 minutes, but we decided it was worth it and ordered. After 30 minutes I went back to the carry out window to check on our order. I was told it would be another 20-30 minutes. I waited another full 30 minutes, so we were up to an hour at this point and checked again. This time I was told there were still 3 orders in front of ours. After an hour and 20 minutes, we finally got our food. The woman who took our order was apologetic when we finally got our food.

We were passers-through, but this is not just another roadside diner! The food is fresh and made to order, portions were perfect. I enjoyed the steak sandwich with a side of the fried krautballs – these are like a mini mouthful of your classic Reuben! They make their own root beer, and the shakes were unique flavors and very creamy! Very friendly service to top things off! I wish I lived closer – I’d frequent this place as a regular!

The fried chicken was great. The Cobb salad was on the warm side, causing fears of food poisoning. Luckily, no food borne illnesses occurred. My heart goes out to the place, as I think they are trying as best they can in a tough economy and hiring situation. I hope they are able to push through the hard times for this community.

Grew up with Porky’s, I used to love coming here so much for a good root beer and burger.

Small Mom & Pop places like this are always special! The fries are hand cut, the burgers are smashed & crispy around the edges… I would take a Porky’s any day over a big box chain. We will eat here again!

A local recommended this place when we were passing through town. GREAT recommendation! Our burgers were delish, I LOVE hand-cut fries, and the vibe is exactly what I expected… cozy and retro. I will go out of my way to come back here!

I can see why they’ve been in business since 1949! The coney sauce is definitely only for certain tastes. We didn’t care for it, but tastes is subjective. We ordered burgers, fries and the chicken dinner. The burgers were delicious, fries were reminiscent of those served hot, fresh and greasy, at the county fair. They’re even served with vinegar and ketchup! The fried chicken was !! The skin was beautifully colored, crispy and flavorful. The chicken itself was juicy and packed with flavor. They also serve a homemade root beer in a frosted mug. The kids and my husband loved it, I, on the other hand, did not. There was a little kick of something, that left a not so great aftertaste. It almost seemed like the aftertaste a diet pop leaves behind. Service was good and the food came out pretty quickly. Its awesome to have the choice to dine in or sit in your car..it is a drive in afterall!
