At our Charleston, WV location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

This was our first visit. We were in town visiting a family member with health issues, and Captain D had something she could eat! The staff were friendly and helpful, and our order was ready fairly quickly. Everything we got was tasty, prices are not bad. Will definitely visit again next time we are in town.

I walk in to see the cashier slowly turn around and roll her eyes at me for disturbing her FACETIME call while she is working. She then comes to the register and stares at me instead of asking “What would you like”. So I decide to keep the peace and just make my order…I then wait an entire 10 minutes for my food when it wasn’t even busy. The cashier plays on FaceTime some more and even takes the phone call in the back. That’s when I noticed the two cooks just standing in the back doing absolutely nothing. The cashier then comes back with my food and says “You’re welcome” before I could even say thank you. PLEASE STOP HIRING WILD ANIMALS.

This place was a bit underwhelming for the first time I went to try them out. I purchased one of the family meals and I was not thrilled with the chicken or the fries. The fish was actually pretty good and I would go back again for just that. Otherwise, it was just a mediocre meal experience overall. The staff was great, so no concerns at all on the customer service side.
