One of the best services I had ever have on the state the waitress were always aware of our needs, this is a small place but a big experience, starting with the ride to the restaurant to the top of the mountain, then the food is very tasty, I got a lot of new flavours since this is the first time I have Norwegian food, the atmosphere is very elegant with the piano player and the view that you have from outside the place, but it also has a twist of Viking fun. When you go to the bathroom be aware that is just a hole and be careful of big foot since the bathrooms are outside the Yurt, trivia FAQ this place was visited by the King of Norway during the 2002 Olympics.

Absolutely love this place! Best Grilled Cheese sandwich on the planet. They also have a killer Buffalo Brat and oh, the view is pretty good too 🙂 !

Wonderful experience start to finish. They delivered exactly the experience they explain on their website and more! The atmosphere is fun and unique and to have a piano player who can sing and take requests was a treat! The food was unique and SO good. I especially loved the cardamom ice cream and the drink they serve! The braised short rib was perfection, too. Thank you for making a special night for us!

My wife and I had way too much fun. Atmosphere. Joy. Laughter. It is warm from the cold and something everyone needs to do at least once.

Pretty fun experience, food is good, piano in the background. Just didn’t care so much for the service. More rush, rush, atmosphere instead of chill relax evening.

I have been on the Viking Yurt twice now – we have loved our experience! So much so that we were gifting it to our friends as a wedding gift. However, a member of our party has severe food allergies and we would like to confirm that it is safe for her to dine on the premises (it is on top of a mountain!!). The number is no longer active, there is no email listed and I have reached via their website 4 times in 3 weeks. That is crazy! Any restaurant should have a line of communication for this reason! Especially when so expensive and usually booked for a special occasion. I am writing this review in hopes of a response. Please contact me and I will delete this review.

You can’t miss the place if you study my picture and keep it in mind as you ski by at 40mph. Fun place they have a church service to Odin on Sundays at 1pm!

The Viking Yurt is up on the slopes which made it a unique experience for me. I walked in just after lunch time and I could tell there was a huge rush. They do take reservations for dinner, so I’d definitely look into that. They have a pretty good drink selection which makes for great fun on the mountain. I grabbed a drink and sat out in one of the Adirondack chairs and enjoyed the view. As you can imagine the view is beautiful at the altitude.

I have had 2 wonderful experiences at the viking yurt. The food is phenomenal and the atmosphere is breath taking. However, this past Christmas I thought it would be fun for my family from out of town to enjoy this wonderful experience as I have in the past. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED! I thought this was an adult only restaurant. I had a family with two screaming kids next to our table. To make matters worse I asked the piano guy if he could play a few other songs I requested and I was told by the man he does not know “I did it my way by Frank Sinatra.” Every piano player knows this song. This last experience was the worst of my life. If I wanted to sit next to children, I would have eaten at the Olive Garden. I caution anyone who books their reservation to make sure there will be no children under the age of 5. Because For the price $245.00 per person its not worth it!

The food, service and atmosphere was good. Although, as the night progressed several customers got very loud (too much liquor). The sleighs only hold 32 patrons, and there were 40 customers going up the mountain for dinner, so eight of us had to ride in the snow cat. So if you want to ride in the sleigh…..be first in line!
