I’ve drove past Southern Roots many time. Finally stopped today so glad I did. One of the specials was fried Frog legs. OMG they were awesome. As was the okra. Everything my coworkers got was also good per them. Service was excellent she was extremely helpful. Looking forward to going back again to try something else. Thanks!

The food is terrific! Domestic beer is well priced. Staff is amazing! Prices are a bit higher than expected ($3 to $5 higher per menu item than comparable area restaurants). The experience and food was top notch. I will be back!

Courteous, kind, and attentive staff at this awesome downtown restaurant! The food here is wonderful, and the venue is awesome. Great prices for great food. up for drinks, love music, and dining. The owner is very nice and clearly cares about customers and the place. Place is set up for lunch and dinner. Craft beer in cans or on tap. Do yourself and favor and check this place out! (They were also very kind when I accidentally flipped my tea all over the table…)

Wow! Just WOW! We found this place by chance and will DEFINITELY be back. HIGHLY recommend. We had the special (shrimp creole over rice with fried okra) and steak nachos. Fire and Ice with ranch dressing for appetizer. It’s all good!! Tell Jen, the owner, the Comptons said hello!

This place is certainly one to be sure you frequent! The wait staff is super attentive and takes special care to get your order just right! My husband and I ordered the fried pickles to start and they were awesome. The perfect crisp, if you ask me. I had the Buffalo chicken wrap with the house made chips and my husband had the southern pride (which is a double burger with wings and a side). The portions are very generous and we will have lunch for tomorrow. The food was delicious and just what we were looking for! Thank you for the great service and cooking our dinner tonight!

Happened upon this place on a whim while in Monroe around 3pm on a Saturday. Nice, relaxed vibe inside & nice decor. Was greeted by Jeremy & quickly seated. He was very attentive & our food came out quickly. We got the special which included a cheeseburger, 5 wings, & fries. Everything was great. Really loved the hot wings & happy they have real crinkle fries & not the ones that have a coating on them like many other restaurants do. Overall we had a great experience here & would definitely recommend to others & would come back for sure! Really nice to have a restaurant with great food & great service because these days that’s hard to come by it seems.
