1) The food was decent but nothing spectacular or great.

Kichi was a solid dinner for the price and an above average omakase experience overall. I appreciated that it was BYOB, and at a lower price point compared to Sakana or Hiroki. With that said, I found that I preferred the actual food and experience at the other local omakases, even when accounting for the lower price here. For example, there was a wait to be seated when we arrived because the session before us was being ushered out. Realistically, there should be 10 minute intervals between sessions and not people waiting while others are being rushed. Cool spot, good food, likely won’t return.

The food is great and I can taste all the dish is well prepared and is specially treated by the master chef. The service is very accommodating! The owner made sure every single one of us is being taken care of, and sincerely asked the feedback from the client. This spot will become my favorite one, and I will recommend to my family and friends that want to taste the authentic sushi!

Sushi was fine, mostly good with 1-2 misses and definitely nothing special. The dining experience is 1 hour but they seat a new group every hour, which makes you feel very rushed at the end when new patrons are entering and watching you finish. Even a 30 min buffer would drastically improve the experience for paying, gathering your things, and clean up. Restaurant is BYO and does not sell alcohol. Overall this was not terrible, but not worth the omakase price or title imo.

Service is everything when it comes to these types of experiences, especially at these prices. Kichi’s downfall can be summarized in one word: Greed. They’ll serve you many delicious bites, but before you even have a moment to reflect – you’ll be slingshotted out the door as soon as you hit 60 minute mark. We felt like we were at Subway. A hostess literally tapped us on the shoulder while actively chewing and said are you ready to close out? They also did very little to honor our 2-year anniversary which I specified on Resy, no dessert, pay the check and get out (even though all other celebrations during our seating – birthdays – were honored with dessert). They seemed more focused on moving on to their next seating than making sure we were taken care of, and we felt degraded. To their credit the kitchen staff is outstanding and so is the fish, but 60 minutes is too tight of a window for an Omakase. Kichi – expand the Omakase to 90 minutes or you’ll be put out of business sooner than later.

I stayed in Philadelphia for a week on this business trip and visited two different Omakase restaurants before discovering this one, which is the third. However, this restaurant is undoubtedly the most cost-effective among all the Omakase restaurants I’ve tried in Philadelphia. It’s not just because of its prices, but also because for $100, you can get almost the same dishes as other restaurants. I will definitely choose to come back to this place next time, very warm service and really nice staff and chefs they got!

Had an amazing experience from all the staff member there. Everyone was extremely welcoming, the vibe was definitely there! When I first walked in, the decorations upon the walls were very pleasing to look at, definitely set the mood.

The price is good for omakase. Overall sushi was great and suitable for the price. I don’t think the last sushi in the course which was the chopped unagi should be made in omakase course.

This is one of the best omakase restaurants I’ve ever eaten in terms of atmosphere, the chef even gave us three extra pieces of sushi, I’m very grateful for that, I will definitely come back, it was a very worthwhile experience.
