the place was very welcoming. we booked a reservation. the drinks were very strong. i ordered a cucumber flavored martini. didn’t even need to order another one. i also had the new york strip with mac n cheese which definitely filled me up. i recommend it. we also had carrot cake for desert which tasted amazing, unfortunately i don’t like eating pieces in my food but for those who do it was actually nice! i will be returning.

We frequented this restaurant when it was called J. Alexander’s on the west side. Its astonishing how they kept quality and service so high over the many years. The menu rarely changes. They serve martini drinks with a ‘side car’ which I love. We tried an avocado bomb (pictured)-delicious. Its a place that if you like the food and drinks, you can return for years and never be disappointed.

Wow this place is shockingly good for a reasonable price too! The quality of the ingredients, the professional staff, and the slick modern ambiance is something to experience at least once. But Merus is just too good for me to only experience once, I will definitely be back.

We tried this place for the first and it was amazing! It’s the perfect combination of upscale and laidback. I ordered a martini and the server brought me the extra in a seperate glass! Any place that serves me a martini with a side of martini is a 10 in my book! Not to mention that they bring you rock candy to sweeten your coffee ☕️

Omgosh!! I can go on and on about this place! But this has hands down been one of the best experiences that I’ve had in quite some time. Merus is truly a hidden gem and I’m just shocked that this place isn’t packed all the time. One thing that I look for whenever I come to a restaurant, is excellent customer service and we received just that from Ezekiel! Ezekiel was the best and really attended to the needs of our table and was truly a breath of fresh air. If I could specially request him every time I come here, I absolutely would. Now onto the drinks… They are a little on the stronger side, but you really do get value for what you pay for. Often times, when you go to a restaurant, there is less alcohol in the drink. But as I’ve stated, this was not the case here. I started out with the Doppelgänger and it was soooo good. In a way, the Doppelgänger, puts you in the mind of an Old Fashioned (I’d rate this a 10 out of 10). I also ordered the Jalapeño Wink, which was decent, but not my favorite, maybe a solid 6 out of 10. The Spicy margarita was really good too (9 out of 10). The appetizers were phenomenal! For our appetizers, we got the Emerald coast shrimp and omg!! Whatever sauces that were paired with the shrimp were insanely delicious and life changing. The real star of the show was the Avocado bomb! It was soooo good that we ordered another one. I really appreciate the freshness of the ingredients and how they married one another so beautifully. Merus truly doesn’t believe in compromising quality and you can genuinely tell. The deviled eggs were okay, but not the best. For dinner, we got the Steak Maui, Filet Mignon and the salmon and everything was super tasty. Last, but certainly not least, the Key Lime Pie. The Key Lime Pie. It was so delicious, that it needed its own sentence. It was the richest, creamiest and most decadent that I’ve ever had! From Ezekiel, to the chefs and owners, please keep doing what you’re doing. You all are passionate about what you do and I’m looking forward to coming again. Please do yourself a favor and come to this restaurant.

Last night I held a wonderful small birthday dinner for my mother last night at Merus Grill. Everything was so good! The shrimp appetizer, spinach queso, and deviled eggs were a great start! My cousin ordered the steak and fries and she said it was the perfect medium. My brassarie chicken was full of flavor. My mothers pork chop was so tender. I had another cousin order the crab cakes and they were very nicely sized. Another cousin had the ribs and she said they were very good but could use a little salt. She loved the sauce they use. Our waiter even brought my mother’s key lime pie out with a candle to end the night. Overall this was a great experience at a restaurant none of us had ever tried. Oh and the drinks were very good as well I had a sparking Paloma and midnight margarita both were strong and full of flavor! Thank you Merus Grill for a great first impression.

We loved the great food and service! I had the ribs, and my husband had the crab cakes – both were very large portions, and had great flavor. Our server was phenomenal, and very pleasant. We even enjoyed our take-home carrot cake! We can’t wait to try more of the menu.
