For almost 60 years, Gale Street Inn has been serving fine food and spirits with gracious hospitality. While ribs were one of the original menu items, we never thought they’d become world famous.
In 1974, George and his wife Joan ventured out to what was then considered the country. They found the perfect location on the shores of Diamond Lake. A great deal has changed since then, but our commitment to service and great food hasn’t.

I have not been here for at least 15 years and it is my loss. The place is beautiful service amazing and food even better. From the appetizers to meal it was 5 Star all the way! The NY Strip was perfectly cooked the flavor was one of the best. My wife’s salmon was done to perfection and a huge portion. The Prime Rib was a Queen cut and done to perfection. The house salads are the nicest I have had. Please go and enjoy!

Great views and great service. Best Bone in Rib-eye. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Worth every penny! Only wish the noise level was a bit more controlled, but not really sure how a restaurant could even do that when the dinner guests are so happy!

My husband and I enjoyed a rare date night at Gale Street Inn Mundelein and the food and service were impeccable. This was the first time I visited the location in probably 20 years, since eating there before a high school dance, and all I have to say is this ain’t your momma’s Gale Street Inn. (And I’m your momma!) Upscale feel, amazing service, watched the sun go down over Diamond Lake as we ate a delicious filet mignon and whitefish almondine. Highly recommend both dishes, and the vegetables for the almondine were plentiful and cooked to perfection. The bar area is spacious and looks fun as well. Check this place out if you’re celebrating a special night, or want to make an ordinary night special.

I grew up going to the original Gale St. Inn when I lived in Chicago but this location just blew me away. The atmosphere is very modern, the service is outstanding and the food was delicious. Everything was clean and organized even with the winter blizzard from this past week with happy staff there despite weather conditions. Also, Bill, the GM, was very polite and walked around to all people at the restaurant to greet them and speak with them. We drove almost one hour cause of the winter storm and would gladly do so again as we loved this location more so than the original in the city. Hands down, amazing experience.

EXCELLENT restaurant! Every item on the menu is outstanding. The gluten free options are delicious. The ribs fall off the bone – so good that you want to order the full slab. The prices are very reasonable. The owner, Bill, and his team are warm and welcoming and make you feel at home. The atmosphere is very nice, updated, and spacious. Go for lunch or dinner. We love it here. Also, Gale Street Inn supports local charities, very generous people. This restaurant is excellent in every way!
