Really enjoyed dinner here. Staff was awesome and attentive. Free chips and salsa was good, Queso was very subpar (very very runny velveeta). The chicken enchiladas were delicious and our favorite was the fajitas. Their margaritas were amazing and will definitely be returning. Prices were reasonable.

My husband and I were driving to San Antonio and decided to stop at Chavelo’s Mexican Restaurant. Don’t let this small restaurant fool you, it’s great!! My husband is picky with Mexican food and he loved this place. The service was amazing!!! Our first server was nice and our waitress was amazing!! They were all bilingual which was nice. My husband ordered the mixed fajitas plate and I got cheese enchiladas. The micheladas are good too. If you’re in this area I definitely recommend stopping at Chavelo’s. We’ll definitely be back.

2nd block from Main Street. Acknowledged us as soon as we walked through the door. Drink and food service was quick. Make sure you ask for their chips, very crispy and true tortilla chips. Food was impressively great tasting.

Outstanding. Came all the way from Philadelphia just for their taco salad. Best ever according to my wife. I had the barbacoa plate for lunch and it was fantastic. Kind of a hole-in-the-wall, but the food and service are great.
