Visited here for the first time with my son. It was more for experience rather than for the food. Not that the food was bad, it was good for what it was. It was exactly what we were looking for and what we expected. They were definitely hot weiner’s no doubt about that. The toppings were great and the frys were good to. The price was right, the waitress was polite and the service excellent. It definitely was a cool experience none the less and my son and I had a great time conversing with the waitress and checking out all of the pictures on the wall, finding out all of the history of the restaurant and why the hotdogs snap when you bite into them. I don’t think we’ll be regulars but since my wife, kids and I kinda dub ourselves as foodies it was a cool place to visit and I definitely recommend you do the same if you ever find yourself in Hanover PA and you want some good hotdogs.

Simply stated: you haven’t lived until you experience The Famous Hot Weiner! I’ve lived in the area for 60 years and I have to admit I have eaten here at least 30 times per year!

Stopped by late afternoon after driving by the place earlier that day. I ordered a bowl of chili and the special with one hot dog, one hamburger and fries. Never did get to try the hamburger because the order came out with two hotdogs. The fries were hot and good. Did not care for the hot dog it was more like a sausage. The chili as not bad would not win any chili cook-off. The value was was good for what you get.

Neat little diner type place to get a pretty good hotdog. Good service, friendly staff. Since the location is in downtown Hanover, parking can be tough.

Old school location with diner vibe. Banana shake was super thick. Great Texas style burger and dog. Dogs have that snap you get when have a bite into the casing.

I gave it a one because there was no ZERO. Ordered a to go order a couple a months ago. Got home and barely an inkling of chili sauce on 4 hamburgers with everything. Fast forward to today and we thought we would give them another shot. This experience was worse. Apparently a hamburg with everything doesn’t include chili sauce anymore. Those 4 hamburgs had a gallon of onions and not a drop of chili sauce. Dry as a bone. Been a customer for over forty years but no more. Can’t believe how the quality has gone down hill.
