Food is great, good portion, price and staff is really nice. Only reason for the 4 star vs 5 star is the bad communication. I got the catfish with fries and coleslaw. Requested a substitution for potato salad instead of fries, I noticed on the receipt I was charged an extra $2.50 for the potato salad so I asked if there was a substitution fee and waitress told me yes. Okay not an issue but would have been cool to know ahead of time or have it shown on the menu. When my food was ready the waitress actually refunded me the charge which was unexpected and super nice. So now I’m confused if there is a substitution charge, if the charge was an error, or if she was just being nice and comped me? When I finally sat down to eat I noticed I didn’t get my coleslaw.

Best ribs I’ve had in years! Sides were equally as good. Could not have felt more welcome. We were in town from Chicago, can’t wait be back in St. Louis and go back to Tooties. Everybody was amazing and the service was fantastic.

I really want to give this place a better review, but I was disappointed with the overall experience. It visited on a Sunday afternoon, & lots of items weren’t available. The server did her best, but she seemed very confused & couldn’t explain anything when I had questions about the menu. The fish was absolutely delicious…highly recommend. The sides are a NO. I had mac & cheese and green beans. Both were unseasoned & flavorless. Plus, an additional side is $5. Staff was nonchalant and there were a lot of flies inside. We ate inside, & the customers next to us were served on plates. Our meals were put in Styrofoam containers.

My salon is down the street and I always drive past Tooties on my way home … today I finally got a chance to just walk down with my kids and all I want to say is the I will be a regular for now on especially on my lunch breaks. Service was great and the food was amazing !! 10 stars to that house made “tooties barbecue sauce”!

Diamond was wonderful but the food was trash on the Website says ribtips we’re $11.00 got there and was charged $18.45 the rib tips had a old grey translucent look to the bones like they were boiled sauce was to sweet no flavor macaroni was mid at best one piece of bread soggy as hell on the bottom old meat not cut in uniform style pieces I’m not gonna lie I was disappointed and now I know why they were empty won’t be back ever the nastiest food I have ever had in my entire life
