Great food and service by Kate! We started off with their clam chowder and salad which had roasted pecans, cranberries, gorgonzola cheese with a very tasty vinaigrette. We then moved onto the duck nachos and mussels. The mussels were good but not to our liking yet Kate was on-top of our opinion and sent the manager over. We then moved into the pan seared tuna which was fabulous and dessert to end. The wine prices are really reasonable. I would highly recommend going here to eat as they are very well run and organized.

Kristen was amazing. The food was phenomenal, and the friendly staff gets a 10 out of 10. We came in off the Ferry, and they were not prepared for the party of 20. But they made it work. We ate, we drank, and I will never forget this restaurant. I’m going to tell all of my coworkers about this wonderful place.

Aspens is our favorite restaurant in Old Saybrook. The food is always fantastic and the service, excellent. Usually we eat in the bar area, but tonight we ate in the main dining room. My husband had the scallops with bacon fried rice, and I had the salmon with potatoes and roasted vegetables. Joe was our server and was great! Seafood is always fresh and cooked just right. Love having the fireplace going on a cold night.

Very nice place. So accommodating. Great staff. Kate was our server, so nice! Salmon entree was delicious. Friend had pastrami panini which she liked. Nice cocktail and dessert menus. Plenty of parking. In a courtyard with a few shops.

Visited Aspen for the first time in a number of years and was very pleasantly surprised as the menu seems to have expanded quite a bit from what I can remember long ago. We were a party of 7 adults with four of the 7 being 18-21 year olds. I ordered the Lobster & Bacon Fried Rice and asked if it was something that two people could reasonably share – and the answer was “yes.” Ultimately, I chose not to listen and ordered two of them and was very glad I did as there are really single servings. The appetizer itself was very good but at $24 I am not sure that I would do it again. Same would hold true relative to the scallops I ordered – which were very good but such a small portion of little sea scallops spread out on the dish to make it seem like more of a meal… for $38. My kids enjoyed their steaks and short-rib respectively and the calamari appetizer and salad appetizers were tasty as well.
