My blackened grouper with grits was good but my wife’s pork chop was wonderful. Oh, and I shouldn’t forget the creme brulee – amazing! The music was a little loud for such a quiet night but otherwise the ambiance was great. Our server was pleasant, didn’t rush us (we had some extra time), and took care of everything we needed.

When this restaurant is busy it’s almost impossible to have a conversation with people across the table. Hard surfaces make sound bounce causing the rooms to be very loud when crowded. Part of going out for a meal is being able to converse with friends without shouting to be heard. The louder the ambient noise the louder people must speak to be heard. Good place if there are fewer people.

Wanted a close-by casual dinner with cocktails. We have been here a few times and the food is always good. On this most recent visit we sat at the bar because it was Saturday and no tables were available. Bartenders weren’t super attentive but it was about to get busy and we were able to get their attention when needed so it was okay. My husband had Manhattans which were fine. The deviled eggs were great and the pretzel was substantial and the sauces were good. Steak skewer with chopped salad was okay.

The server was great, the restaurant lovely. I ordered the scallops. They were not cooked to order, therefore not hot. They were tough, room temp and adductor muscle was not removed. The reason I did not complain while I was there. #1 I shouldn’t have to, and #2 by the time a new plate is fixed the person your eating with is done with their dinner.

We arrived at 6:55 for our 7pm reservation – which was booked several weeks in advance – and it still took a good 20 minutes for us to actually be seated. Staff kept telling people waiting that they “just need to clean off a table.” I understand February 14 is a busy night but that’s the whole point of a reservation.
