I had an exceptional experience tonight at Gabe’s. The place is cozy and modern for decor. The bar had a great selection of drinks. This evening I had their Fly in Feature. This had a slab of swordfish, scallops on a bed of risotto. They also had a great stuffing that came with it. This was prepared excellently. My wife had the 8 ounce Perch plate. The perch was delicious and the cold slaw was great! We were served by Cally who did an exquisite job of serving and keeping us in drinks! Definitely an excellent choice when in Oshkosh.

Got the breakfast burger. Wow! Nice beer selection and so far good food. I would def come back. Was busy but good sound control. The nacho sauce is pretty phenomenal. Regret not coming sooner.

Braised Beef Tacos were good, French onion soup tasted like straight red wine, let waitress know and it was taken off the bill, appreciate that, but it was served to a kid, should have comped my meal for serving alcohol to a child. $22 for cod dinner 4 small pieces, soggy fries and coleslaw. $11.50 for a gabes old fashioned is outrageous, price not listed on the menu. $150 for dinner for 2 adults and a kid, won’t be back.

Yum. One of those meals, when you’re full but you keep eating because it’s so good. My husband picked us up the Fried Chicken Mashed Potato Bowl lunch special. I didn’t expect it to have the levels of flavor that it did. It seriously rocked. Still warm after a 15 minute drive home too. Thanks for the great food and friendly service.

Terrible experience at this restaurant. If I could give zero stars, I would have. The service was the worst I’ve had in years, the food was terrible, cold cheese on the nachos, no salsa for the nachos in a restaurant that also serves tacos and burritos. We asked to upgrade the side of fries to onion rings, which the server said she could do and then we were charged $10 for the 6 onion rings we got. A full order of onion rings is $11. The manager apparently had put in the charges for our table while he was sitting at the bar. The place wasn’t busy on a Sunday at lunchtime and I can absolutely see why. We will never be back. Definitely don’t recommend this place. We had a lot of other great dining experiences in the area in Oshkosh and Appleton. Feel free to check out my other reviews for great places to eat.

We stopped in for Sunday brunch. We had Gabe’s benedict and hangover hashbrowns. They were good, particularly the eggs benedict with pot roast. I would have appreciated a warning that the hasbrowns were closer to french fries than hash browns, but that didn’t make them inedible. We also ordered an extra biscuit, as I wanted to try their biscuits. It had a good flavor, but it was tougher than I expected as though it was made with northern hard wheat rather than the soft southern wheat that southern biscuits are generally made with. If this was a temporary supply issue you may have a different experience.

Some of the best takeout I’ve had in a while. Food was absolutely delicious and unexpected. They take care into each item and nothing is an afterthought. (side salad with homemade dressing). Plus an array KETO options which was amazing to see! Will definitely be back for a sit down dinner.
