What an awesome gem. We went here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. It is cozy, very clean, w tons of Filipino staples. The ppl who work here are so incredibly friendly. We got the chicken adobo and grilled pork belly w rice, plus a BBQ pork on skewer. The lumpia Shanghai was so tasty and perfect. Everything was delicious and made to order. Then we bought a whole bunch of baked goods. I can’t believe how fresh all the buns are. I got 2 different kinds of Ube buns, one yummier than the other. And we got a cassava cake piece. And a macapuno bun. I highly recommend every single thing we got. There’s also fun drinks, foods, desserts, in the fridges in the back. What a local treasure.

Hankering for an Xsilog Filipino Bfast after driving for over 4.5 hours, found a Pinoy msrket and food place in deerfield, long island. They were open and ready to serve cook to order silogs. Mama Ems herself was in the kitchen and came out to greet and coached a young staff. Service was quick and food was delicious. Daing was all belly, longganisa fried close to crisp just to my liking and tender beef tapa. Each came with garlic rice, cucumber pickle and a sunnyside up egg.Price reasonable given it came with freshly brewed coffee or orange juice.side ordered ube pandesal, biko and ube hopia. Theres a well stocked minimart on site…got a Tentay patis to replace Rufina which was all salt and no umami. Tip-the joint is between a large laundromat and a hispanic grille i. A small strip mall. Operational as early as 6 am!

Food is always freshly made. Loved the lechon kawali, tapsilog, daingsilog, chicken bbq skewers. I always get the pan de sal and coco bread here and is made fresh from a bakery in my previous hometown of Woodside, Queens. They have turo turo on the weekends. Make sure you call in advance for take out as the food is made fresh. They have lots of Filipino items which makes me miss going back home to the Philippines. So glad this place is literally 5 minutes from my house now in Deer Park. Only gripe is I wish they were open later. Lol

My father married into a Filipino family. I spent several years eating Filipino food, and several months in Manilla. Mama em’s is the perfect place to scratch that nostalgia itch less than a 5 minute drive from my apartment. Ian and his family make you feel at home with wonderful attitude, home cooked food, service, and an excellent selection of imported groceries.

Went in today for the first time and pick up a few specialty items to try. On my way out my battery wouldn’t start. Ian was a big help to give my car a jump and so nice that we will definitely return to try the hot food!
