This is the best pizza place in Iowa. First of all, the customer service is excellent. The servers are kind, attentive, and patient. We ordered pasta and pizza. As soon as you taste the food you know this isn’t some frozen food canned stuff. It’s all homemade. They shred their own cheese, make the sauce, and bring the olive oil from their own olive farm in Italy. We met the owner. He shared his story on how he opened up the business, a true American story. The pizza wasn’t greasy. It had the best flavor and plenty of cheese. I recommend the deep dish stuffed crust pizza. The stuffed pasta shells are so yummy. We tried the cannolis, lemoncello cake, and chocolate cake and they taste just like the ones in Italy. If you like fine quality food, this place is it. They don’t accept cards so make sure you take cash. Support local businesses. This one has been standing after so many years even through the pandemic because they prepare the food with much love and also as if it was for them. They know that everything is energy and people deserve to have food prepared with love, intention, and high quality ingredients.

Sal Vitale’s is a must stop in Muscatine! We showed up @ 9:30 after a long day of fishing on the Mississippi River and they greeted us like family. They didn’t try rushing us and fully explained their menu and how everything they make is fresh. We typically don’t eat at Italian restaurants, but we are hooked. Everything was amazing. Highly recommended.

There are so many great things to say about Sal Vitale’s Italian Restaurant in Muscatine, IA. First, Kristina, our server, took great care of us. We started with the Portobello mushroom app. The sauce! The sausage! Everything was perfect. Then Scott had the deep dish Francesca pizza and I had the Mediterranean salad. The pizza crust was one of the best ever. Thick, but not doughy, baked perfectly so there was crunch to the crust without being dry. Again, the amazing marinara paired with mushrooms, sausage, ham, and artichokes with a hint of oregano, it was so delicious! My salad was cold, crunchy and a nice blend of greens, tomato, feta & kalamata olives. If you aren’t a huge fan of olives ask for them on the side, they are plentiful. And the piece de resistance was the cannoli. I grew up living next door to Anna Mae who was the penultimate Sicilian cook. Not since I was a kid have I tasted such a perfect cannoli filling, but Sal Vitale’s Italian Restaurant pulled it off. Buon appetito!

I always like going here. Always good food. Great service! I tried something new this time. It was a like a spicy pink linguine sauce with crab and shrimp in it. It was awesome. The bread that was served was soft on the inside and little crunchy on the outside. I love it that way.

If you are looking for authentic Sicilian cuisine look no further. I have lived and worked international and having been to Sicily and Italy several times, I can say that Sal Vitale’s taste just as if you were to sit down in a restaurant in Palmero or Messina in Sicily or in Rome.

The ravioli app was really good and the servers where very nice. Wasn’t crazy about the chicken Marcella though. I would just suggest getting something other than that. Seemed like a nice family place.

Top notch service, best Italian food around! If you haven’t visited here to eat yet, you are missing out! Definitely worth going out of the way and skipping a common restaurant food chain for this delicious and relaxing dining experience! Reasonably priced and enjoyable!

I had a couple of small issues with my usual dinner tonight after I picked it up and got settled at home. I called to let them know and he told me they will replace it and deliver it to me, anything to keep my business. I got it hot and fresh 45 minutes later, delivered by the son of the owner who would NOT take my tip no matter how much I insisted. They just really went out of there way to give me a better dinner experience and to make it right. The customer service made my night and my food ended up being phenomenal. Thank you Vitale family ❤️
