My name is Bonita Allen and my husband is James Allen. I’m born and raised on the southside of Chicago and was 10 of 12 siblings. I moved to Austin in 2006 with nothing and always thought about owning my own business. Everytime I would go back home to visit I would spend more time eating out because of the foods that I missed. I had this idea to stop chasing my favorite foods and I knew other people from Chicago were doing the same thing. That’s when I decided to open Midway Dogs and be authentic as possible. We’ve only been in business for 2 months and we are loving it. Meeting a lot of great people and putting a lot of smiles on faces makes me very happy!

This is far and wide my favorite food truck right now! Located at Indian Roller in south Austin, everything we’ve tried has been 10 out of 5 stars. Locally owned, homemade chili on those fries and dogs, and some of the tastiest Italian beef I’ve ever had. The owner is amazing and you can taste the love she puts into this food. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I came here for the Chicago hotdog and beef sandwich, but the polish sausage with mustard and onions was my favorite. I will totally be coming back. Took a couple bites before taking a picture because I couldn’t wait. Worth the trip and the money. Highly recommended.

I’ll start by saying I don’t like tomatoes on hotdogs, I despise raw onion, not a fan of relish nor do I like yellow mustard on anything. However, I ordered the vegan Chicago style and it was awesome! All the flavors mixed together worked!! I’m so glad I took the owners recommendation, will definitely try again. And my bf didn’t even know the dog was vegan! Chili cheese fries were spot on too!!

The food is outstanding. My man is from Chicago, and we have been looking for a spot with authentic Chicago food…..and we found it. The area is nice and comfortable, and the service great. Definitely our new go to place for something quick and appetizing. My husband said 10/10!!

The Chicago Style hotdog did not disappoint — and I’m from Chicago!! I think I’ve officially tasted the perfect bun. I had a bite of the Italian beef – also excellent and has a little extra spice. This place is such a gem and the staff so kind. 10/10 recommend.

Not even close to Chicago dog. Plain dry bun. Dill pickle, not kosher. Not sure how they cook the hot dogs but certainly not from steamer. Toppings old and sparse. And the price for that is high. Last time I was ar Gene and Judes in Chicago a dog was less than 4 bucks with fries. Here it is double that without fries. Beware!
