Being from Iowa I’ve always heard that steak was better the more I traveled west. After 7 days in South Dakota my stop Custer seamed to be a good place to test this theory out. My $20 Rib eye steak was a 1/4 inch thick and completely void of flavor. I even attempted steak sauce, salt and pepper which almost made the steak taste something close to food. My wife ordered a salmon fillet which looked good but lacked again in flavor. The Garlic mashed potatoes included beef gravy. The menu didn’t specify this and the waitress failed to mention it. Only decent part of the meal was the baked potato and the dinner rolls. Total damage for a meal of 4 – $80. I’ve had better meals in Iowa for the same type of food at half the cost. Skip this restaurant completely and eat else where.

Excellent steak!! Some of the best ever. Price was quite high though. I got the 6 oz portion – when served it looked like only 3 oz. and all it came with was a baked potato….no vegetable at all. 11.95 for this. My husband got a hamburger for the same price as my steak, it came with fries. He said it was excellent too. Very nice gift shop. Don’t go if you like a salad bar – it was miniscule

Almost everything on the menu appeared to be a little higher priced than other restaurants in the area. My wife had the special, prime rib. She thought it was great. I had the French Dip, it was ok. Service was prompt. My rating would actually be a 3.5 based on price and average food compared to a couple of other places we’ve dined in the area.

Vacationing in the Black Hills we wanted to have a nice steak dinner one night. Overall i would say this was the most horrible steak house I have ever stepped foot in. My wife had the sirloin which tasted like a steak from Sam Warehouse that was freezer burned and old. No flavor or seasoning. We noticed everyone was covering tier steaks in sauce which I don’t like to do so I can actually tasted how good or bad it is. As for the mashed potatoes….INSTANT for sure. The baked beans were Van D Camps or most likely generic. I had the Fillet which was small and tasteless as well and the corn on the cob must have been on the cooker all day because it was more like grits when I ate it. Overall the $40 bucks I spent would have purchased a better meal from a fast food joint. If anyone recommends this place RUN. You will waster your money unless you love steak sauce.

Had the bacon wrapped filet. It was fairly small and less tender than others, but had good flavor. It was a good value at $12.00. We asked for dinner rolls, and they brought out freshly baked bread sticks. They were delicious! I don’t recommend the mashed sweet potatoes. Tasted like they were from a can.

Last night I ordered a buffalo roast on medium well but they give it to you on well done my sister ordered a steak off the kids meal and the lady dropped it onto my food – horrible service- also 2 stalls in the lady’s room, for such a big steakhouse- in the bathroom I had to hold the door shut… Never going there again! By the way ordered wine and they were out of my 3 choices that she had me pick!

We came here because it said ‘family dinning.’ The only thing that was family dinning in my opinion was the table sizes. Prices are outrageous. We ordered Mac n cheese (for $6 off the kids menu) for our daughter and literally what they brought to our table looked like box macaroni I can buy at the store for .50; our food was Ok but not worth the prices we paid. We really like supporting local businesses but I wish we would have picked a different places to give our money to!

Overpriced tourist fare, selling cheaper cuts of meat at full price. BBQ chicken was undercooked. Prime Rib with Shrimp special was a joke. Almost laughed when waiter brought it out. “Shrimp” was an appropriate description as they had battered and deep fried cocktail sized shrimp. All six of them…any one of which could have hidden behind a quarter if the breading was removed. Prime rib was over cooked as ordered medium-rare. It was served with the aus-jus used for french dip sandwiches. Staff was courteous but temp summer help. I suggest you keep moving down the street.

you get. It’s a tourist trap for dining. The food is subpar especially given the price. Had tea with the meal and the waitress poured in Pepsi to top off the tea. I would never eat there again based purely on the food quality and pricing. In addition, expect less than stellar bathrooms that seem insanely small for a building that large.

All I wanted was a steak. Came here Sunday during memorial weekend and ordered the prime roast, they were out. Ordered the fillet, they were out. Ordered the ribs, they were out…How exactly do you not plan for a busy weekend? Very disappointing.
