Hayward is the brainchild of Chef Kari and I am so pleased to say I had one of the best meals EVER this week thanks to her creativity and skill. The tasting menu with wine pairings from Johan (and others using Johan’s fruit) was mind-blowing. The daily menu at Hayward changed often and seasonally and is always a pleasure, too. If in McMinnville, head to Hayward for dinner. You won’t be disappointed!

Order. The. Trout. We were having a tasty dinner already, and then the whole trout entree came out and immediately became a highlight of the trip. Overall, a great restaurant in Mac Market. A variety of different foods and flavors, some with an Asian twist. Very friendly staff and a fun vibe. Also with a tasty cocktail list as well as a dedicated non alcoholic beverage menu including several mocktails if you’ve had enough wine after a day of tastings.

Restaurant was only 25 pct. full but service was very slow. No air conditioning. Food value was poor. For 5 of us, some dishes were tasty and others were a complete miss. We ordered pizza next door after dinner. Will not return.

Oh My! If you like food with layers of flavor and texture that satisfy all your senses – this is a place you need to try. From the cod torchon to the hen dumplings, to the olive oil cake for dessert, every bite was a new experience. I’ve only had this level of food in a very formal setting but this is a casual, fun establishment where the staff seems to be having a great time feeding people great food.
