I travel for business and have had the good fortune to stay Boise near The Refuge. Each time I’ve visited, I’ve been greeted with a friendly approach and attentive service. I especially appreciate the way the staff work together and support each other with the goal of excellent customer service. Oh, and the food is consistently delicious! A shout out to Jared who works hard to ensure that the bar runs well and that I always have a drink in my hand.

I came to visit Boise and celebrate my friend’s life. All of her friends went to The Refuge for drinks and food. The staff was amazing and even wore Buffalo Bills shirts (she was a huge fan) because she used to watch the games there. The wings were by the far the best I’ve had outside of Buffalo or Rochester, NY (maybe even better) and served with crispy celery. The other food was great. I also had the pesto chicken pasta (yum) later and we all sampled each others food. The beer was fresh and the mixed drinks good (not too strong, not watered down). Great spot if you’re down near the quarry.

Really good food for a fair price. It’s just off the greenbelt so after you fill your belly you can enjoy a walk on the greenbelt. They have a large variety of beers and they have hefty portions. You won’t leave hungry, that’s for sure.

Wings were amazing! Server was top notch. Family really enjoyed the Mac and cheese, and spicy pasta dish. Would definitely come back. Also, served a proper adult beverage.

This was an exceptional experience! We ordered the lamb burger and the taste of this could only be described as a Gyro in a bun! Our waitress was attentive and so helpful! The chef actually came to our table to give us a personal recommendation. We loved every morsel and can’t wait to come back for round two!

The place felt kind of dive-y. My server seemed super overwhelmed. Other servers seemed fine. I waited a while to order a soda. After he brought it out, I never saw him again. After 15 minutes, I left. I would’ve hoped for a beer list at the table, not just a white board that is hard to read- both because of size and hand writing. My eyes are good. Maybe the servers have it down pat. I’ll never know.

When they say seat yourself, they really mean we don’t care enough to greet and serve you. Asked for a water never got it. Never got refills. Never got checked on from guy bar tender who greeted his friends that walked in and did shots with them. The fish was rubber. Told the woman when we left that service sucked. It has more of a dive bar atmosphere.
