Shoot Well
I love the food. But the store is always dirty. Tables are not clean and the floor needs to be swept. I have been four times in the last month or so. It has usually been slow when I have come and the help is standing back chatting or texting, which I am definitely OK with. But somebody needs to be cleaning the lobby. Also, this last time in addition to the store being dirty, the sauce was cold and there was not any ice cream. It was around 6:45pm. The young help needs a good manager.

We have eaten at this Dickies several times and have always had good service. Today we went and had the worst experience of our lives. The sad part was that it was a manager that caused the situation. Chloe was the rudest person I’ve ever done business with. My son’s sandwich was a slab of fat with a little meat attached and when we mentioned it she took it and started slamming things on the counter. My mom asked a question about the way she was ringing things up and she was rude when she answered. My mom then found a hair in her salad, when she went up to tell someone about it Chloe was rude once again. My salad was mostly one chunk of lettuce core, but by that time we knew it wouldn’t help to mention it. We also heard her talking about us with the other employees while we were eating.

My family and I were headed to Missouri to get fireworks. Instead we decided to try Independence to see what variety of fireworks Jake’s had. While going into town we saw the Dickeys sign and tried it out. The food was amazing and service was very nice. The atmosphere of the building was breath taken, we love old buildings with the character it has. We will definitely will be back to eat that damn good BBQ

Came in to restaurant tonight at 6:01 pm no one behind us, did not know the menu or the layout , Young women behind the counter would not speak up so we could hear her. The counter is to high and set back far to much to have a conversation with senior’s. She was snappy at best and we were confused, why someone did not come out behind counter and help us i will never understand, they certainly were not busy. The workers just stood and looked at us, like we were lost in the woods. To not help a customer who is having issue’s is the lowest com·mon de·nom·i·na·tor. The food was ok my bread was cold and no good. I could not see the different names on the bqq sauce because they were so worn, and had to have young man advise me, He to was snappy. I suppose we were interrupting his meal as when we set down he was at the bar eating his food.

I tried the pork and sausage platter. Both meats were good, but the side’s not so much. The jalapeño beans just tasted like Chilli powder and black pepper with no jalapeño flavor. The bread was so dense it wasn’t edible. The potato salad was good.

Bar-B-Q was not very good. Very dry and no flavor but I guess thats what Bar-B-Q sauce is for. The atmosphere however, was very nice and comfortable and the staff was friendly. Plus, they have sonic style ice for the fountain drinks and free ice cream.
