My favorite local spot. The food is fresh and delicious and the service is great! And most of the menu is gluten free, which is a plus for me! Glad it is cause it one of the few places I can still enjoy….and do!

The carnitas are not the typical that you would expect, cooked Michoacana style. It did not have any parts that were supposed to be crunchy from being cooked in the fats. It wasn’t super moist or flavorful on its own. You need to add the sides that come with it to add flavor. The corn tortillas were not homemade. They were packaged. The seating outside had little furry insects that were crawling on the umbrellas, and I was fearful that they would fall on my food. There wasn’t any sign or indication that there was seating available inside the building next door. I mentioned to the cook that it was our first time visiting, so it would have been helpful if he had mentioned where we could sit (outdoors or indoors). I would not be returning to this place as it did not live up to the Reviews I had previously read.

This place does not look like much from the front but once you taste the food you will come back! The food is outstanding, full of authentic flavor, and done right. We tried the half pound of carnitas, shrimp tacos, fish tacos, and the tostada with carnitas. All were excellent! You order up front, wait in the back where they have an outdoor seating area, then they will bring the food to you with extra sauces. The service from the waitress was also excellent. I can’t wait to try this place again!

In My Opinion
This one hurts. This is my third time back and first since the pandemic. My first two visits, outstanding! They had these like stone ground corn tortillas and they were spectacular. The carnitas were moist and flavorful. Nice crispy skin as well.

Not good carnitas at all don’t waste your money I regret spending $75 which I think they over charged me. These carnitas aren’t cooked the way they should the meat is like boiled and big pieces of fat they are chewy and have no taste and the tortillas are hard and old. I went early Sunday expecting to give my family a good Sunday brunch and I’m so disappointing these are not carnitas this is just pulled pork with no flavor I had to get home and fry them to at least be able to eat them and most of my Mexican family wouldn’t touch them. I’m so disappointed if I were a Karen I’d be there demanding a refund but I’ll just warn people to not buy these horrible excuse for carnitas one star is too much.

Carnitas are very mouth watering. Love them. Call ahead to see if they didn’t run out before you head down there.

Great value, carnitas flavor is great and authentic, tortilla is a bit too thick but good. TACOS are HUGE! (Like a pound of meat each huge) Careful when ordering… salsas and condiments are good tho I was throughly disappointed that they have no cilantro… you can’t eat carnitas without freshly chopped cilantro… oh well. If you are familiar with the area you’ll know what to expect from the location itself.

The sides are what really this together. Good salsas and pickled onions. The carnitas were tender but flavor wise it’s average, nothing special. I saw mixed reviews on them having handmade tortillas. The fact is that they do not. You get regular store bought tortillas. Overall, $25 for 1 pound of carnitas, only six tortillas, and no drinks makes this place priced on the high end.

Don’t know where to begin. I’ve always heard about this place and how amazing it was. I finally had the chance to stop by. They’re closed on Mondays and opened Tuesdays – Sundays. Their menu is simple, it’s all about their world famous Carnitas. Tacos or quesadilla with Carnitas is all you want and need. It’s the most flavorful and delicious carnitas you will have in Texas. Service is friendly and fast with plenty of seating indoors and out. You will not be disappointed. Stop by and you’ll want to order as much as you can, because two just wasn’t enough.
