We are excited for Singlespeed in DSM! The back patio is going to be lovely this fall! It’s a very bikable location. We’ve tried it twice and the beer is great.

We took our dogs so we sat outside. The wait staff was amazing and brought bowls of water multiple times for them. Everything came out quickly with no problems. I enjoyed the Asian wings and the seasoned fries.

Stopped in to check out the new space and have a beer. We just ordered at the counter. They have a nice patio and plenty of indoor space as well. We have not had a chance yet to try any food but will check out more next time.

I will happily bump my review up to five stars when they add more parking! I haven’t had the food at this location yet, but I always love Singlespeed’s beer as a CF native. The patio vibes are fun and location would be great for bikers. Parking is a nightmare, however!

Great addition to the Des Moines brewery scene. They did a great job on this location. Be prepared to park on the bridge or a couple of blocks away.

Quite a transformation of an old tire shop, very unique and vintage building they added on to and refurbished to accommodate their business.

There is plenty of space, but hopefully, parking will improve. Fries were good but could have been served hotter. Definitely will be back as they get more experience.

Spacious area located just north of the river. Huge open areas both inside and out, with outside having yard games to play like connect 4, jenga and others. Service was very quick (we just had one beer) and friendly. The food menu looked decent, and from what we saw being brought out looked good. Beer selection was moderate.

Stopped by for the first time. Space looks great, beer was really good. We also ate; our food was good but not exceptionally so. I want to try more on their menu. Biggest challenge seems to be that they’re trying to execute two different concepts at the same time and it is confusing. There’s a great patio but you can’t order food on the patio and that’s not clearly stated. We went inside to order food but accidentally bypassed their host station because it wasn’t visible through the entrance we used. The spaces are all open to one another and it’s confusing to understand what the expectations are for the various areas of the taproom.

Individuals in our larger group come and go at different times, which is tough for less experienced servers. Ours took it in stride and kept everything straight. The food we sampled was very good. I especially like that the umami burger tastes great, but doesn’t ooze toppings on your hands or clothing as you eat. Brussels sprouts are amazing. Beer selection is fantastic. Try the salted chocolate chip cookies (baked to order) and/or the cheesecake with raspberry compote! They even have make their own sprinkle blend for soft serve. As others have noted, there are a couple of drawbacks at present—chiefly the lack of parking and the noise level. We were told they’re working to remedy both situations. They seem very receptive to feedback and eager to improve.
