OMG — what a great place! Everyone was super helpful & friendly, and the food was really delicious. I had their signature perch & my husband had the prime rib, and both were perfect! And the hot buttered rum was amazing! We liked the music, but it was a bit loud (though we didn’t ask them to turn it down bit). Will definitely be back if we’re ever again in Oshkosh, and would definitely recommend.

First off, I love this place. I have only been here 1 time and the experience was good. I do want to say the waitresses did come off a little abrasive when I tried to seat my 3 boys and myself. Other than the brief moments of that, food was amazing! Perch sandwiches are loaded with 3 large perch filets and a nice portion of fries. The French Dip sandwich was very rich, I would definitely order again. If I’m ever in Oshkosh again, I’ll be stopping.

While in Oshkosh for the Hawaiian, we went to this restaurant bar on recommendation from friends. The fish was cold and my steak sandwich was bland tough and loaded with grilled and fat. Worst ever. Need to teach the line cook how to properly prepare beef. I rarely give a critical review but the owner needs to hear the bad news. It’s had good reviews in the past.. maybe we were outliers however won’t be back. Much better alternatives for us

First time walking in to Jansens and we were warmly welcomed in. Wisconsin hospitality was above and beyond anything that we’ve ever experienced anywhere! The food was out of this world-amazingly delicious! Clean and comfortable atmosphere, the staff made us feel like we were family. Definitely will be back for another meal and conversation!

This is as home-town quality, great drinks, casual Wisconsin vibe as it gets! Great service and excellent food. The perch is served nightly and their walleye on Fridays is a fan favorite! The drinks are delicious and the food portions are large and come with two side choices. Highly recommend this quaint secret spot in downtown Oshkosh!

Jansen’s went above and beyond for our group tonight. Oshkosh is so lucky to have this restaurant/bar! Called in late morning for a reservation for 30 people and asked if they could accommodate a birthday as well. The service from start to finish was amazing! Our entire group said the food was delicious! The prime rib special – great flavor and tender. To top it off, Jansen’s amazing group made sure we were even able to celebrate with cake and candles.

The salads arrived with the wrong dressing choices, we did not get a basket with rolls until asking three times, the food was cold and undercooked and our waitress, while not unpleasant, kept sitting down and chatting with other guests. We were not the only guests tonight with a less than stellar experience. I don’t usually post negative reviews, everyone and every place has an off night but this was particularly disappointing. This visit did not live up to Jansen’s reputation.

I had to go because of the name (and I heard they had a great fish fry)! But let me lell you, I am by far NOT disappointed! Food was excellent and so was the service! Met the owner (but didn’t get my high five! ). The bartender was also my server, and she went above and beyond! Thank you Tina! There needs to be more people like her in this world.

Not sure what happened to my previous review, but it’s gone. I normally do not bash establishments and I understand everywhere is short staffing, but I went back in hopes of getting the same taste and service like years back, very disappointed. Fish was cold and bland, and waited at least an hour for our food.
