Jamaican Café Cuisine was birth from the idea of many years of entrepreneurship as a youngster attending Elementary school and had to assist my mom in providing the basic necessities for myself and siblings. As I journeyed through high school I became more efficient in marketing many different products and odd jobs for visiting tourists to Jamaica. I would get anything they need for marginal profits if it was not offered in the hotel. It was during this time I met two gentlemen with whom I have now shared friendships for over 24 years. One of whom has mentored me over these years.

Food was great! Authentic Jamaican cuisine. I was anticipating the opening of the restaurant and the food met my expectations. My favorite dish so far was the stew chicken, tender and seasoned well. Rice and peas, cabbage, and Mac and cheese were also great too. Also enjoyed the jerk chicken.

Visited this place yesterday and was pleasantly surprised by the venue. The restaurant was clean and the service was great! I ordered the large stew chicken with rice and peas, cabbage, and sweet Yams. For the price I was expecting more food, although very flavorful, the meat portions were small. The cabbage and rice and peas were very good, but those “sweet Yams” came out in the purest form. No seasoning at all. They were horrific, but since everything else tasted wonderful its 3 stars from me.

This was my first time ordering from Jamaican Cafe Cuisine. The service was friendly which I appreciate and the overall experience was good. Ladies and gentlemen, that flavor was everything that I imagined with the curry sauce!!! My biggest issue was the Shrimp in the Platter. They were NOT jumbo as described on the menu and due to THAT it was a little over priced. It came with 2 sides. I ordered the mac and cheese with the cabbage. They were decent but they needed more flavor, especially in the mac&cheese. Overall, I’ll still go back but maybe try a different dish. I’m glad to see a Jamaican restaurant in Middletown. This has the potential to be something really special. I’m going to try the chicken next time.

I purchased oxtail, rice and peas, Mac and cheese and plantain. I ordered two orders with wings on the side … the total came up $84. For the money that I spent the least I expected was for it to be seasoned. Jerk sauce… flavorless. How ?! For such a beautiful establishment I expected a serious Jamaican experience. Save your money and your time.

My husband and I came for breakfast. We got the combination. OMG!! It fed the both of us. Right before we walked out I saw a gentleman in the back pour out a huge pot of cornmeal portage. I’m coming back for that too. The food was absolutely delicious. I’ll be back with friends for dinner. But I can’t stop thinking about that delicious breakfast.

Very polite in the store. Store looks good nice and spacious. But my takeout order was all messed up. Didn’t give us the right food. As far as the food go I had oxtails. Was ok but for $30 dollars they just don’t give you enough oxtails. I know they are expensive right now but they shorten my a little extra. My wife don’t really care for the curry chicken she said has no taste to it
