The sign says Molly’s Magnificent Eatery & Dessert. I’m not sure that’s accurate. The best I can say for this place is that it has a “homey” feel they have clearly gone to pains to cultivate and the people seem friendly. The menu is a single page of cutesy named home-cooking that largely lacks imagination. When I say “single page,” I mean there’s a side with food and a side with filler. This by itself isn’t too odd. The hours of operation broken out by day even though they’re the same for every weekday seems like an attempt to fill real estate, but poor menu design doesn’t mean bad food. Something about the place made us decide against eating the food, so we opted for dessert and coffee. At a place variously calling itself an eatery, creamery, or dessert shop, surely this will suffice. Motel-room coffee didn’t make a great introduction to the gelatinous glop of chewy brown substance served as chocolate under a mildly tangy glue touted as meringue. Perhaps we should have attempted the entrées, but I doubt it would have redeemed the experience.

I am very impressed with Molly’s Eatery. The owner is extremely sweet and very customer oriented. As soon as we stepped in she offered us samples of her very delicious soups. Each one was very unique and tasty. I had Molly’s special; it came with any cup of soup, any half a sandwich and chips. You can tell every item was very carefully thought out and individually crafted to provide that great homemade taste.

New place, grand opening, new employees not exactly prepared. The food was good, but pretty pricey, and I don’t think I’d come back for that alone. They should provably get rid of the cardboard boxes they serve the food in and go with plates. And bottles of ketchup on the table, not packets. All on all, good atmosphere, good employees, nice people! But the food was just ok for the price and they’re stuck between being a fast food place and a restaurant.

Update: 9/15/2017: What Molly’s lacked in decor, they made up with their amazing food. The Bistro pretty much is a full 180. The service and decoration was nice, but the food has a cafeteria feel now. Disposal plates, cups, and silverware (temporary?) and we had the pulled pork sliders and burgers, which were mediocre, nothing to talk about. We may be biased because Molly’s food (soups, sandwiches, entrees, pies – everything!) were to die for, and the new, kind of sparse menu has almost nothing left over from before. Nonetheless- Molly’s made us regulars, but we likely won’t be returning to The Bistro.

Most Unprofessional place I have been. 12$ salad that taste like like dog food and dirt that I’d only pay 5$ for, dried out burger, bartender offering drinks and when you ask for it she says you can’t have it because she can’t remember how to make it so you have to order something else. Even if you want that drink she will refuse to make it and you have to order something else. Cooks coming from the back arguing with staff upfront. Only good thing was the girl singing karaoke. Will not be going back.

The food was excellent and the staff was super friendly! They even let me have a small sampling of their 6 homemade soups since the lunch rush hadn’t started yet. They were all delish, I had trouble deciding between the Cream of Potato, Tomato Basil, & Chicken Tortilla. I settled on the potato one (which was awesome), but I’d definitely go back for the other two too!

Went the first time on opening day and the portions were really large and food was great, went a 2nd time much later and it seems the menu was much smaller. The pasta portion size was abysmal for 12 dollars and sauce tasted like it fell right out of the can onto spaghetti. The banana split was 1/3 the size it was.

Pretty good sandwich, but awesome soup! the only complaint is the lack of cohesive branding, a little bit of an identity crisis going on inside of the restaurant. Didn’t get a chance to eat any ice cream, but i have no doubt that it is great also.

I’ve been twice, the first time it was good, and the service was good. I went today and was seated in the back corner and forgotten about! There were very few people eating, and most of the staff were just talking to each other. After 15 minutes and nobody had been to my table I left.

Our first time at mollys eatery in bryan tx. It was an awesome experience, we had chic fried steak, we will go back. Plus the crust on the pie was very flaky. Great food. Irvin is the mgr. The food here takes you back to grandmas house.
