I cover 4 states with my job and stay out 4 nights a week….every week. That’s a lot of dinners….but none compares to Calhoun Steak House in Jeffersonville Alabama…..and the kicker is….I always stay in another city on this leg of my traveling but had to get a hotel here tonight. Friendly staff with great smiles and I had Jessica S as my server and she was nothing short of amazing. So very pleasant and wonderful job of getting order right and table touching at the right times. I had the ribeye and a loaded baked potato and it was perfectly prepared and seasoned JUST right!….then ….decided to try the peach cobbler and vanilla ice cream….oh my word…..delicious ! I have made the decision to start staying here on these nights solely to get this dinner every two weeks

Quick call for 16. They thought we said 6. Still got us set up. Service was timely and attentive. Stuffed pig skins appetizer = new favorite. Beer selection was meh but whatever. Food was clean and good. I prefer more seasoning, asked for some and got it. All orders right the first time. My steak was not overdone. Atmosphere was unobtrusive.

Second visit i was SUPER disappointed. The dip was good, but my $23 Ribeye was really tough. I was bummed my dinner came immediately after my salad, but i only had a few bites of the steak(it was not good) and ended up just eating the salad and a bit of the potatoes. The waitress asked if i wanted to see the manager but it would’ve been embarrassing because i was in the middle of the restaurant by myself.

Farmhouse style steakhouse. The server was friendly and worked hard to take care of our every need. Everything we ordered was fresh, hot, and tasted so good! Wonderful food. Clean and bright atmosphere. Very friendly.

I ordered baked spaghetti. They brought out ravioli, had to send it back.Service was ok. The last two times that we have went,something was wrong. One was a carry out. They didn’t include my baked potato. When I called and asked for a manager, they said there wasn’t one there and acted very strange about it.

Just the middle of the road experience. The service was good the atmosphere was fine. I ordered the ribeye which is my measuring stick. Mine was cooked properly but it was extremely bland all it had was a char taste no seasoning whatsoever if I have to salt or use steak sauce it’s usually not a good steak imo. My wife’s steak was not cooked properly and she also had to season hers. Nothing really bad to say some people like bland food. We never were asked if our steak was cooked properly or how our food was.

Arrived at opening, 11 am. Slow traffic, great service. Philly and Hot Ham sandwiches were really good and over filling. We should have ordered just one sandwich and shared!
