The atmosphere of this place is fantastic. There’s a LOT of “kinks” they need to work out – in particular around the bar area. We were seated there last night due to a full house (note this was at 6:30 on a Monday). We had a great time being served by the bartender Alvaro, and he was great to chat with the few moments he had to spare. However, he was being slammed – and one of the waiters seemed to think he had the right to demand immediate attention nonstop (it was super rude and ridiculous to watch. The guy wouldn’t even go get his own Mexican coke and just stood there with a cup of melting ice).

Visited a new restaurant, Palomar Comida and Cantina, in my neighborhood that had a good ambiance. The positives—the margarita flight, Mexican Cobb, and table side guacamole were good. The negatives—the restaurant was understaffed and we waited almost a half hour for drinks, with reservations, and an hour and a half for our orders. The street tacos were basic and lacked flavor. The restaurant wasn’t too busy as it was later in the evening, and we were given the wrong ticket that took twenty minutes to correct. The restaurant has a lot of potential, and I am hopeful it’s improves with more staffing.

Great atmosphere! They’ve really done a great job redoing this place that always had the potential to be an awesome hangout, especially outdoors. The soup was served lukewarm -1*. The enchiladas were amazing . Other than cold soup, was a great meal. The plates are smaller and thus it is more expensive, but it certainly enough for your average person portion wise.

The margaritas and the enchiladas del Sol were amazing! The bartenders were great! We sat at the patio bar since we didn’t make a reservation. With as popular as this place is and how small it is, they really should consider first come first serve on seating. It reminds me of how Lupe Tortillas started out when their restaurant was out of a small house. Lupe’s never took reservations back then and the wait was sometimes 2 hours long. I imagine Palomar will continue to be packed since it is so good. Go early if you plan on going! It is definitely worth trying. Oh, I enjoyed it much more than Lupe’s!

My boyfriend and I have gone twice now, 10/10 both times. We absolutely love the food, and my bf said it was the best carne asada he has ever had. The garnachas tacos are INCREDIBLE, even as leftovers I’m looking forward to them. I love that they have so many vegetarian options.The queso blanco was so amazing, we are excited to try their other queso. Drinks were tasty; we tried margs, carajillo, and I always get the sangria. I think this place is a great addition to the neighborhood with excellent tasting, actually unique Mexican food. We will be back!

Service was good, empanadas were uncooked, flautas were overcooked, we ordered the flight which was amazing! Beer was hot, cantarito was good, I almost DIED when toilet seat came off because it’s not screwed on and there’s only ONE woman’s restroom for the entire place…will return for drinks when it’s not busy. It’s a bit pricy, the high top chairs were awful! I felt the girls hair behind me and we kept hitting each others backs! :/

The food looked great but not much flavor. The margarita I got was average and the fajitas was more of a disappointment. The side dishes were more favorable then the fajitas. The churros were fresh and delicious (forgot to take a picture of them). Parking here was terrible. I had to go around the parking area numerous times and just ended up parking by a tree that wasn’t actually a parking spot. The staff at this location were friendly.
