Not many places open until 10pm on Sunday night in Chesterton but we were thankful that Val’s was, this was our first time visiting. Nice, low key environment with beer and wine but no liquor. We had side salads, some cheese stuffed bread sticks and cheese ravioli with spicy Italian sausage and it was all so fresh and delicious. The side salads came in a bowl but they were so big so we dumped them onto our appetizer plates and they looked even bigger after that! They definitely do not skimp on the portions! We were also very happy with our server who was friendly, thorough and prompt! Will definitely visit if we visit the area again! Thank you!

My wife and I spent the day hiking and were ready for a ton o’ calories late on a Sunday. We aren’t from the area, but Val’s had good reviews and was open for another hour and we stopped in.

On the 4 hour drive home from visiting Chicago our family went 45 mins out of our way to eat at Val’s. We just had to have a double order of Doughboys & three The Bomb!!! stuffed sandwiches. A family favorite for sure!

Wow!!! Best pizza I’ve ever had! Would have been 5 stars but I ordered the Stromboli w/o green peppers (flavor makes me gag) and they must have put em on by accident. I still ate the Stromboli simply because it was amazing flavor and the spicyness of it took away some of the flavor of the green peppers.

We went late on a Friday and it was mostly empty. The bartender was very friendly and fun to chat with. We ordered a vegan pizza with sausage, mushrooms, and garlic. The pizza was amazing!! The crust was thin and crunchy but not the slightest bit burnt like some places. We will most definitely be back!!

We had the most amazing time! The waitress Natalie (who doesn’t even work there! She was just helping out) totally made a gf’s birthday. The food was excellent. The staff were just awesome. I live 2.5hrs away, but I will def go back. So good and the prices are excellent! I cannot say enough good things about this place and the staff 🙂

was in town for my birthday and wanted to try a local spot, fiancé got the chicken and broccoli stuffed sandwich, I got a pizza and DAMN they were good! waitress was also the bartender and was super friendly and patient with us out of towners, 10/10 will be coming back next time we visit the city.

I had the Bomb and it was great. It’s too bad they don’t have calzones. What they call calzones are actually stromboli. Get some ricotta, please. I bet your calzones would be great.
