My parents recently bought a house in northern Durham, less than 2 miles from Handy Kitchen. Turns out this is going to be a problem because it’s so good and fast that I end up eating there way too much. The egg drop soup can be a little gloppy like they didn’t wisk the thickener enough, but the taste and ratio of egg to liquid is great. The sweet and sour pork was nicely crisp and good quality meat. The chicken lo main has been a crowd favorite. So was the honey chicken, btw they give you a ton of sauce so you can douse your food. Pork fried rice has nice chunks of meat in it. The only thing I’m not thrilled about is their definition of spicy. I’ve asked for spicy twice and feel both time it was pretty mild.

Great little family owned take-out place. No this is not 5 star cuisine, but it’s excellent for a wide variety of primarily Cantonese and Hunan dishes, with some specialty dishes thrown in for variety. Food is consistent, orders are filled quickly, and prices are great. I’ve been going there for 5 years and have never been disappointed.

Was referred to try this place and I knew walking in that it wasn’t what I wanted. Score was a B on the sanitation grade and I could clearly see how they received such a grade. Stuff was scattered everywhere. I ordered the chicken fried rice and my wife order the kung pa chicken. Both where horrible tasting and the rice was more steamed than fried. Chicken was rubbery as if it was frozen without any seasoning. I recommend trying something else unless you enjoy this very below tex-chinese cusine.
