The Harris Ranch Express BBQ is a must-stop along Interstate-5 for fans of quality barbeque. Our meats are smoked inside our custom-built Johnson smokers; the “Big Johnson”, a 125-square-foot smoker, and the “Baby Johnson”, a 26-square-foot smoker. Both Johnsons are wood-fired, reverse-flow smokers, meant to give the best “smoky” flavor to our meats.
All of the meats that are cooked at the Express BBQ are seasoned with Harris Ranch Spices, including our Harris Ranch Express BBQ Chipotle Chili Powder, Dalmatian Mix and Rib Rub. Our meats are also finished with Harris Ranch Express BBQ Sauces including our Original, Spicy and Sweet BBQ Sauce. All spices and sauces can be purchased inside of the Fast Track Convenience Store.
Unfussy counter-serve with outdoor tables, plating classic smoked BBQ eats such as ribs & brisket. Based on 934 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.2 stars. Price

I heard about this joint and wanted to give a try during our trip to LA from Sacramento.

Biting cow flies everywhere. My brisket sandwich was tough and chewy. The coleslaw was good. Everyone was nice. Parking is easy. Did I mention the flies being everywhere. I ate in front of the giant fan to keep the flies off me and my food. Next time I’ll try the indoor restaurant.

BBQ is legit good. Don’t let the fact that its a gas station fool you. This “express” place serves better BBQ than I have had at BBQ spots in my local community. Dont think about, just get their BBQ.

Brisket was good. It was a little dry. Decent portion. Burnt ends were a little tough and chewy. Almost too much barbecue sauce. Mashed potatoes were cheesy and thick. Gravy was good. Potato salad was alright. Too much relish sauce and onions were cut too large. Service was good and fast. Very crowded.

This is pretty much a must-stop for me whenever I drive between the Bay Area and Los Angeles. Excellent quality food, good value, with fast service at a reasonable price. The Tri-tip is excellent – very tasty and juicy. Would love to try the Burnt ends some time when they are available. Overall great experience that carries the Harris Ranch brand well.

On our way to San Jose to fly out to Hawaii and we stopped here so we wouldn’t have to eat disgusting fast food. Overall the food was delicious. The highlights were the brisket and the cornbread. The brisket was really tender and juicy, and the cornbread was just about the best I’ve ever had honestly. The jalapeño in the cornbread was really good. The baby back pork ribs were dry and overcooked though. We will definitely stop here next time we’re in the area.

Been coming here many times since I drive back and forth on I-5…this is the worst pound of brisket I’ve ever received! As you can see, at least 1/3 of the pound purchased was FAT that I had to cut away! This is absolutely unacceptable! Very disappointed! No manager available to speak with either… only young women working the Express BBQ counter! Shame on You Harris Ranch! You are Better than this!!

Food was all decent! Got pulled pork and that was tasty but the ranch beans were very bland. Jalapeno corn bread was also pretty good. Reason I rated atmosphere 3 stars is that there were flies everywhere and birds pecking at your feet which was kind of cute but also a bit much.

Way too fatty brisket. See pic. Did they give me a fatty cut? I wasn’t focusing on it so maybe? Couldn’t eat 1/3 of the $18 meat :/ If you like marbling and fat, you’ll love it. Mash potatoes were ok, a bit over mixed-gooey vs potato-y. The rest of the sides only looked ok. But, it’s super fast it’s real food, and that’s a plus, just off the freeway!
