I was very excited to try the Finley Point Grill as I was told it is one of the better places in the area. We had a rsvp but came early and decided to eat at the bar. I ordered the cowboy ribeye medium rare. My friend ordered the chicken piccata. As you can see from the pic (Middle of the steak), my dish was not medium rare. The outside of the steak was well done with no pink and dry to the taste. The server didn’t ask until I was well into the dish, as I was hungry, how was it… nor did they know how to make a Manhattan. But it worked based on my week. But what made me write this review was more around the drunk patron (employee) that clearly knew people and was buying shots for many. He offered my friend and I drinks twice. He asked, “How was my steak?” I said, “It was over cooked.” He asked how did you order it and I shared medium rare. He said it was medium rare and he was a cook there. Totally disregarding the obvious. Then asking where I was from, like that mattered. Anyone that eats steaks regularly can clearly look at my take home (for my dog) and know this is not medium rare. Then he dared to blame because I’m originally from Pa, I do not know what a medium rare steak looks like. He has no idea where I’ve eaten in this world. This obvious employee was drunk and an embarrassment to the establishment.

The Finley Point Grill is the best restaurant in Polson! Their seafood dishes are delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection. They have an open kitchen, which allows for interaction with the wonderful kitchen crew. Stormi was our waitress and she was very friendly and pleasant. I wish I could give six stars

Was our anniversary and we decided to stop in and see if we could get a table. We were with our infant daughter. The waitresses walked past us 4 times and we stood by the entrance for 10 minutes waiting. Finally a waitress stops at the front, so I ask her if we seat ourselves. Without even acknowledging us or looking up at us, she said you need a reservation. No friendliness or kind demeanor. They could have acknowledged us and kindly told us that when they first walked by. We are locals and we are Natives. We’ve never thought we’d get treated so poorly.

We are pleasantly surprised by the food at FPG. I had the Chicken Piccata which was zesty and lemony and breaded to perfection. My guy had the Kobe Burger, it was prepared a juicy medium rare and didn’t need any additional fixings. The bread and salads were also exceptional. Wine list and drink menu were on par with the food. Bravo.

Food is usually good. The first time my only let downs were mashed potatoes that wound up a little cold and the second time prime rib that came out slightly tough for me (others were ok with it), but this place is often so busy that I attribute that to having a lot going on in a small kitchen.

The crusted pecans were delicious and gave the salmon dish a really interesting texture profile. The sauce and potatoes were equally divine!

I’m giving it 3 stars since the plating is decent. A bit disappointed they have changed their menu. We ordered 3 appetizers, Brie with pineapple compote. It was bland, they should consider changing their brand of brie. It did not taste like cheese at all. Could have been baked longer and just top the compote with the nuts on it. We had calamari as well and it was soaked in oil and not crispy. The ones they had before were big rings and crispy. The wings are ok. It is a bit pale and lack of seasoning. I didn’t even finish my seafood stew. Hence the name seafood, it was only loaded with salmon. Maybe name it salmon stew. Definitely not worth $150$ for 2 kids and 2 adults! Overall, it think it could just be something they need to improve on. I know the menu just changed few days ago. But hope this helps to improve their quality.

This place just continues to amaze and delight. Their newest menu fare Braised Short Ribs, Slow cooked short ribs in a red wine Mirepoix over mashed potatoes, topped with a mushroom demi glaze is to die for!

Meh, it’s ok. We had a party of 8 and only 1 person was happy with what they ordered. The steak Diane would have been great, but the filet was super tough. The prime rib was so, so and so was the salmon. Staff was nice, cute atmosphere. But they need a new butcher to procure their meat from.
