Awesome seafood stacked high on your plate to enjoy for at least 2 meals. Biggest and best clam strips ever!!!! No fishy flavor so very fresh. I’m from Florida and am jealous of the seafood from the Country Chowder Shack. More than worth the stop as this is authentic and not a tourist attraction. Go Here! It is a destination. Quintisential Rhide Island fare at a great price!

Though I grew up in Glocester, I moved away many years ago. Of all the things I miss about RI, family and food are at the top of the list, with clams (fried with bellies and clam cakes) above all other foods. So it was a real treat to stop here for some of the best fried clams and clam cakes in the area. But that was not all. After placing my order, I sat in my car listening to the radio. After a bit, I walked back up to the window and saw the sign, ‘Cash Only’. Now what? I had ordered nearly $30 worth of food, and no way to pay! I apologized like crazy, feeling like a real chump, so I was more than amazed when the owner said, “No worries. Just stop by the next time you are in the area. You can pay then!” You could have knocked me over with a feather. Of course I went straight to the bank in Scituate and got the cash, but it renewed my faith in humanity. I was sure that kind of trust was gone. The food is delicious but the service is better.

Used to live nearby and always loved their clamcakes. Stopped by to grab some of the clamcakes I loved and found they were nothing like the ones I loved. The ones I remember were giant clam cakes with plenty of clams in them and a great flavor and little grease. These were balls of batter so soaked in oil that you couldn’t even touch them without getting oil all over your hands, let alone eat. Bisque was decent and creamy, though had no lobster meat. Please bring back the old recipe, even if you need to charge more.

Ordered 2 lobster rolls that came with fries and chowder. The lobster rolls were good and had a lot of meat in it. There were barely any fries and they were cold. The chowder was full of celery – no good. Also got an order of clam cakes and clam strips. Clam cakes were all batter. Very disappointing with all meals besides lobster rolls. No tartar sauce or ketchup given. As waiting for food, realized lobster roll was 19.99, but was charged $25. They only accept cash and have no coins for change so they round up. Most likely wouldn’t return

This place is no longer Howards on 101. New management who aim to please. We have been there a few times already this season and were impressed with the quality of the food. The prices are right and everything is cooked to order. Yes, there is a slight wait but it has been busy for a reason. Word will get out soon, if not already. Their fish and chips are light, fluffy and top notch. Same for the whole clams. New crispy fries available and they are not saturated with grease. Give the service a chance, they’ve been open 2 weeks.

Great little spot ! Find it going west on Old Hartford Pike in North Scituate, RI. The clam cakes were hot and spongey. The white chowder was great too! The owners were welcoming and friendly. Look forward to trying the fish and chips and red chowder.

Called in and ordered two fish and chip, fried scallops, a dozen cakes and a quart of chowder. Was told it’d be 35 minutes. Showed up at the 40 min mark and had to wait yet ANOTHER 40 minutes. Food was ok but the woman at the front had ZERO people skills. I said thank you when I received my food and she proceeded to turn her back and walk away. Thank goodness I didn’t leave a tip. I also had a feeling my food was ready but was given away to others who just showed up and ordered in line. That’s just a hunch though.

Cute little place!! Two little dining areas. Very reasonable prices. Have dessert options as well. Drove by today and saw they were doing a soft opening cash only. Sure they will probably transition to credit cards in due timing. Fish and chips were delicious! Definitely recommend stopping in and grabbing something. Looking forward to trying more of their menu.
