Was mine and my husbands first date night in a while. We had dessert here once with friends and really enjoyed it. Decided to come this time to try the food. Ordered the salad as an appetizer to share. After my first bite, I noticed a piece of lettuce looked bad. After further inspection, found that over half the lettuce was rotten. Awful! Our server, who was great, offered to have another one made, but our entrées were already coming out and we didn’t want to take a chance of more bad lettuce. The server said they would talk to the manager to take it off our bill. Unfortunately, our entrées weren’t hot, and the server had to apologize because the slaw that was offered on the menu with my husband’s pork chop, was no longer available, though the menu still lists it that way. So they gave him mashed potatoes and offered something else if he wanted. By this point we just enjoyed the flavors and paid for what we ate and left. Worst part is never being addressed by management for the rotten lettuce. For the prices, we expected more. Sadly disappointing.

My husband and I were doing some shopping in Topeka. We decided to try out the Weather Room and were very pleased! The food was excellent. We especially enjoyed the meatball appetizers and the ravioli! The wait staff was friendly and prices very reasonable.

Service was excellent. There was a loud group at the bar – we asked to be moved somewhere quieter and they were accommodating. The drinks were stellar. The food however.. I felt as though I was at Olive Garden. My harvest ravioli was swimming in a sauce pan worth of sauce!! The flavor of the ravioli was excellent but the presentation was horrible and it was hard to eat. My fiancé got pork chops and they were so tough to cut he was shaking the table every-time he cut into it. The smashed potatoes we ordered were not crispy at all and were dusted with very cheap Parmesan dust. It was disappointing as we had high hopes for this restaurant. We will come again but just for the bar.

We came to eat 30min before close; which I know is bad form but we’re traveling and hungry. The staff working were polite and didn’t try to rush us. Alexis was our server and so friendly! She patiently listened to my 9yr old talk her ear off. All the food we ordered came out perfect and delicious; everyone was pleased! Definitely coming back and recommend stopping in for dinner. Alexis even made my daughter a strawberry lemonade that she just loved!!

My husband and I were looking forward to celebrating our first wedding anniversary together at The Weather Room tonight. We made reservations for 7pm. When we showed up we were sat at the bar area which is fine. Our waitress was great. Our service was fast and she was very friendly. The food on the other hand was not so good. We were very disappointed.

Very disappointed. For the price I expect to be impressed, but this placed failed on multiple fronts. We were sat immediately and the table was set, complete with water, so far so good. 15 minutes go by before our server comes back to take our drink order. Another 15 minutes go by before the server comes back to take our food order, but they gave us old menus. So we waited until the new menus arrive, but we need time to look at it. None of the items we wanted were on the new menu, and all the prices went up. Everyone’s plate had arrived except for one, so we waited another 10 minutes without eating, looking at each other waiting for a SALAD! My burger was a plain old frozen patty from sysco or equivalent. Soggy bun from butter or something that was supposed to be toasted. I expect hand pattied and seasoned for the price. Veggies were frozen out of the bag type. What makes this even worse it was not busy, only about 4 or 5 tables. Pathetic.

We really enjoyed the food and I want to give the full 5 stars but there was a bit of a delay to our order. No explanation was offered (or requested) as to why the delay happened but the staff knew we were there to celebrate a birthday. They were super attentive while waiting for food, appreciative of our patience and even offered us free desserts for the minor inconvenience. The food was worth the wait and surprisingly more affordable than I expected. Will be back and would recommend to anyone looking for an upscale dinner and evening out!
