The hostesses were very nice and hospitable. However, the quality of the food was bad. I’ve never seen burnt scallion pancakes before until now. The general Gau’s chicken was also pretty flavorless. The vegetable fried rice was pretty good.

Yen yen used to be a staple of my household. We went there for many years. I knocked them for having horrible rice; which in fact is true. If you are a Chinese restaurant you want to have really good pork fried rice. However every time I order their chicken fingers they are absolutely delicious. The coating they use is unique. The pot stickers (fried dumplings) tonight were out of this world with the soy ginger sauce. I’m a Chinese food professional. As with any other Chinese restaurant you have your good and bad. These dumplings made my day actually.

I ordered the Shrimp fried rice and Shrimp with Vegetables for my husband, who wanted Chinese food and since Yen Yen was open decided to get it from there. Big Mistake!!! I shouldn’t have ordered from there , I had ordered from them before and got sick after eating there, then a couple years later decided to give them another chance thinking it was a one time deal, so I ordered again and got so sick that I swore I’d never get food from Yen Yen’s in this lifetime. So when hubby wanted food from there, I was hesitant to honor his request, but didn’t voice my concerns, thinking it’s been twenty something years, so the odds of him getting sick like I had in the past were probably nonexistent, well I was WRONG , he didn’t even eat all of it and spent the next day being so sick. After he was feeling better he tore the menu up, vowing never again would we order from there. Now when I had called to place the order the woman I spoke with was polite and professional so customer service Based on that was helpful , but unfortunately, it’s the food that has to be good and safe to eat if you’re running a restaurant, so the fact my husband became violently ill after eating their food I cannot recommend Yen Yen Restaurant in Gardner MA,

Absolutely HORRIBLE. I ordered a large beef and broccoli. I got alll broccoli no beef. Person on the phone told me beef is expensive and that’s what I got. Then let me know too bad he can’t do anything. Please do not purchase anything from here. Waste of time and money. NEVER EVER AGAIN.

I ordered Orange beef and it came with HAIR inside. I talked to the restaurant manager I suppose, and instead of her handling their wrongdoings they make you feel like your claims are invalid. She made me take a picture of the food to send it to her BOSS. The owner gets the picture and says, give him $5 dollars off the next order. That’s ridiculous, instead of remaking my food and delivering it to me. Be careful when you buy food here, and look through it before eating. BAD BUSINESS! He can keep his $5 doesn’t he know there is Covid and all kind of virus affecting us at the moment. Why give food with his employees DNA on it!!!!! BE AWARE……..OWENER is trying to get rich selling food that he doesn’t even know what’s in it that can hazardous to our health… I’m contacting the SafeServe department too!
