The most incredible house-made lox! Growing up on Long Island and then living in Queens, I have eaten a lot of lox in my lifetime, and the lox at Delicatesse are the by far best in Western Massachusetts. If you’re lucky, and by lucky I mean, if the owner/chef’s neighbor has given them some chicken livers from their chickens, then order the chopped liver. I can’t bring myself to order anything but the bagel and lox, but I have tried almost everything my spouse has ordered and it has all been excellent, especially the daily specials.

This wonderful little cafe makes really yummy Latke plate~ we stopped by for some brunch after early morning sightseeing. The place is tiny but cozy, and their kitchen looks very organized. You can see the staff in there slicing smoked salmon, and preparing your food. We didn’t have anything to drink other than water, but given the look and feel, I think it will be above the average touristy place! If you happen to be near by and need a quick note, I’d suggest here =)

One of the best restaurants in the whole Pioneer Valley. You won’t find better lox anywhere around. The staff is absolutely incredible, and the shop is really cute! Eat there, outside, or grab your food to go and sit by the river!

Best ever. I love this place so much! Alice makes amazing bagels, salads, sandwiches, everything really. Interesting changing cold case items, chopped live (squee!), and amazing specials. Some patience is required here since one person is usually doing everything. The slower pace and the extra work that goes into each dish is clearly worth it though as all the food that comes out is sophisticated and super yummy and well divine! I believe the owner will one day be a very famous chef she is without a question incredibly talented!

Small restaurant where each bit of food is made with great care. Had a French dip and the brioche bun carmelized onions and cheese were great complements to the excellent beef, and I had to drink the remaining jus at the end it was so good.

Today’s sandwich special was a masterpiece! Homemade corned beef, lots of melted Swiss cheese, and pickled cabbage on homemade bread (Alice says she brined the meat for a week and then cooked it yesterday for hours with the most amazing combination of spices–I know: I could smell it in my office nearby, making my mouth water all day!) Even the side salad was perfectly dressed. Alice is an excellent chef and everything I’ve eaten there was absolutely delicious. She even makes bagels from scratch every morning. 5 stars!
