My daughter wanted Asian cuisine for her birthday so we drove to Nagomi sushi and Korean BBQ in Michigan. The restaurant wasn’t busy at the time we went. The decor of the restaurant was nice The spices and flavors of the different dishes delicious and the meats are cooked well. Portions size was ok and the cost a little high but that’s to be expected. We order, chicken curry, katsu chicken curry, Nabeyaki, Tonkotsu, fried wings, Nagomi speciality wings, yum yum sushi, rainbow sushi, crab, shrimp sushi and donburi katsu.

I ordered takeout, 2 shrimp tempura rolls and vegetable tempura appetizer, from Nagomi on a weekday. My order was ready in about 15 minutes. The food was fresh and flavorful. I really liked the vegetable tempura and was surprised that broccoli was included in addition to the typical onion, potato, and carrot. The veggies or at least the broccoli were so soft and I think they are perhaps precooked prior to frying. I recommend the tempura appetizer for people to share as there was enough to share with another person. The shrimp tempura roll was just as I expected. Nagomi is a new place that I will be adding to my list of places to pick up lunch while working in Ann Arbor. I want to try other dishes as there are a lot of yummy options. The restaurant has ample seating to accommodate multiple small groups and large groups.

Oh my goodness, you MUST eat here! The food is so delicious and the service is great. We have never dined at a Korean restaurant before and it was a great experience. I can’t tell you the names of the dishes we had, but they were very good. We also ordered sushi which came out quickly and was also very tasty. Their ramen was rich and wonderful and yum and I’m running out of adjectives to describe how good their food is. Mark Nagomi down on the “just go and enjoy” list.

BAD FISH!!! First I placed an order for delivery online. I did not see an option to add spicy mayo or soy sauce, so I placed the order and called afterwards. I asked for 2 spicy mayo, 1 soy sauce. They told me it was $1 for each spicy kayo, which given how much I was spending, I figured they could add it in for free and not be cheap. Besides, every other sushi restaurant provides spicy mayo for free. I didn’t mind the $2 fee for sauce, and all was fine until the food arrived. Half my order was incorrect, no soy sauce, and the spicy mayo, which I paid $2 for, was hilarious to say the least. Literally a tiny drop of spicy mayo in each of the two cups. When I say a drop, I mean a raindrop. That is not an exaggeration. $2 for 2 raindrops of spicy mayo. I called the restaurant to complain and before I could speak when they answered the phone, the lady said “Kitchen closed. What you want?” I tried to speak, she cut me off and hung up. Now furious, I begin eating, when I realize this fish has an odd taste/smell. I threw it out immediately, because as you know, when in doubt, throw it out. I’ve now had violent stomach pain for the last 3 hours. Thanks Nagomi! You’ve earned my loyalty!

From sushi to ramen to the korean BBQ, Nagomi has NEVER disappointed! Great food, great service. The salmon on the beach & nagomi shrimp specialty rolls hold a special place in my heart. (Picture includes: Jewel Roll on top, Nagomi Shrimp on bottom!)

I really wanted to like it….I really did…but I watched other tables get their soup and salad with their sushi, and their banchan with their bibimbap….they ignored us with ours. And the uni you served me was old…I guess you assumed I wouldn’t be able to tell.

I frequent this place simply because it is one of the only places you can get Korean wings AND sushi at the same time. Literally so delicious. Highly recommend.

I won’t be going here again, crazy expensive and not all that good, and you have to cook your own food. We paid almost 60 bucks to cook our own food, and they put a piece of melon and kale in the raw chicken juice which was nasty, we got a bowl of greens with BBQ sauce on them which was weird tasting.
