First time here.. you are greeted with music as soon as you come in. It’s upbeat and has you table dancing. The menu is pretty good ranging from burgers to seafood options. The wait staff is amazing. We had Roland and he took very good care of the table. We had a party of 6 and they seated us very quickly. The Black Jockeys history posted throughout is very extensive. I wish I had taken more pictures. Nice restaurant that shares Black History while you enjoy some good food. It’s a YES for me. ️ Appetizers: Hubby and I had the stuffed mushrooms, Entree: burgers medium well- mouth watering deliciousness. Try it out!

Our first experience, the atmosphere was great, the DJ was jumping. The waitress was very friendly. The food was a different experience. Presentation can be deceiving. That shrimp and cornbread appetizer was not it. That sauce tasted like unseasoned gravy and grease. I make better cornbread and I hate cooking. All I can say about the stuffed mushrooms is it was edible. I’m just glad we didn’t purchase entrees because I would’ve been heated if they didn’t taste good and I spent my money on them. Although we enjoyed the atmosphere, we won’t be back because of the food. It’s an important part of our enjoyment of this city we’re visiting.

Waited a very long time for service including after being acknowledged. My boyfriend ordered a beer, I said I would decide what I wanted when she returned with the beer. Someone else dropped off the beer and our waitress took so long to come back that I went to the bar 15 minutes later and got my own drink. We ordered jerk wings that weren’t very good. They serve whole wings which was fine, there was 4 in the serving but the skin was not crisp and I like my chicken more done. We ordered something else and it was good but I don’t remember what it was.

We stopped in on a lovely summer evening when the doors were open and we could hear good music and laughter, so glad we did! Everyone was super friendly, the fried green tomatoes were delicious and the drinks were perfect—thank you!

I attended an event after the Derby. I was exhausted but I had heard so much about the place, I wanted to attend if only for a moment. I wasn’t impressed by the food but my server was excellent. He was there on a temporary gig for the night; he works at J Alexanders. The entertainment was great as well. If I wasn’t so exhausted, I could have stayed until the end. I had the cornbread and shrimp. I also tried the cobbler.

Went for a celebratory date night. The vibe is really cool- there was a jazz band setting up while we were eating dinner. We ordered the fried green tomatoes and they were pretty good. Everything else was just okay- especially for the price. The service was slow and it was hard to find our server when we needed her. They also had no idea what a non-alcoholic cocktail is.

It’s a beautiful place so we were really expecting something good. We were very disappointed. The hostess seemed confused about where to sit us which led to us standing awkwardly in the middle of the restaurant for a minute or so. Our server forgot our menu and one of our drinks while she was busy texting right next to us at the bar. The food was over-priced and under-flavored. My shrimp and grits was unseasoned save for the inch of oil that rimmed the plate. My companions burger and Mac and cheese were equally bland and greasy. Our cocktails weren’t even made right! On top of that the live music was a mediocre DJ who just played songs from the radio with zero mixing while occasionally saying his own name over it. Overall it was a very poor introduction to Louisville.

We found this establishment by just walking and wanting a drink. We were seated at the bar because all the tables were full. The bartender was helpful and gave us recommendations and made great drinks. I got an old fashion and it was delicious. The music was good but not too loud that we had to yell to each other. I can’t wait to come back.

This was a cool spot located downtown. They had line dancing in the front with a DJ. They even had someone teaching the dances and there were some complicated ones.
