The Fig Tree Restaurant is a charming place to eat with a nice French feel. The food is very good and seems to be sourced wherever possible with local ingredients. The service is very good and overall our experience was very pleasant. This is a welcome treat for us on the Riverwalk where a lot of food is good but sometimes lacks the creativity these folks bring.

My pictures are deceiving because I suck at photography. The foods were absolutely stunning and amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the foods (butcher steak and sponge cake), and the drink (minted kiwi cocktail). I was pleasantly surprised! I have tried many high-end steaks but this was exceptionally flavorful (less salty and black peppery but you can taste herbs).

The cocktails were some of the best I have had in a while. We really enjoyed the beef tartar and tried the new menu that included Asian Style Cornish hen that was excellent. Unfortunately the pork chop was cold and bland. The service was good but we noticed the glasses at the table had residue on them from not being cleaned well.

Outstanding, as some one who lives on the West Coast I yearned for high quality and delicious food in Texas. The Fig Tree has meet and exceeded my expectations for Texas. It’s quality fine dining that has a beautiful view of the water walk. The service was genuine and professional and the dessert was a dream! Do not make the mistake and go to a mediocre random over priced restaurant on the river walk, choose Fig Tree, enjoy my friends

Menu is not really French despite the listing. Gnocchi overcooked. Mushrooms badly needed salt. More importantly we ordered broccoli. Time from our order to first dish roughly 45 min. Water refilled once. Inside ambiance very blasé with no pictures or decor on walls. Not impressed.
