I have been driving by this place for too long, stopped in yesterday to give it a try and man I’m sure glad I did. The large chipped sandwich was plenty big and loved the mustard based sauce. Slaw dog was on point , baked beans were good and oh the buttermilk pie . I’ll be stopping in here often . Oh and it was very affordable.

The family and I were not looking for BBQ at all but stumbled across this gem, and holy cow! Or pork. Best bbq for the price, the staff were so wonderful, and the place had more charm than a southern bell. I haven’t had a good bbq burger like that in years! Loved this place and can’t wait to come back. Totally worth stopping in and grabbing a bite.

This is the real deal, Folks. What a magical place that transports you back to a long-gone era. The sampler platter has the most variety.. three meats and three sides. Service is so good it doesn’t feel like “service” but more like Auntie so-and-so. Be sure to check out their hours of operation well in advance if possible so you don’t show up to a Closed sign.

Outstanding bbq and great friendly service. Sandwich was perfect, grilled bun, pickles, just the right amount of chipped meat and mustard vinegar sauce. Do yourself a favor and make the trip. We will be back!

So I’m from Oklahoma and have been to alot of BBQ spots in the past 15 yrs out here roughnecking. And I have to Rank this place in my top 5..placing them around 2 or 3 hands down AMAZING..we got the brisket ,ribs ,chicken ..and the brisket sandwich.omg folks mouth watering smoked just right and tender..wow and the chocolate pecan pie..wow a must folks ..TRUST ME..ty to the owners

On July 28th 2017 my wife and I decided to try a new BBQ restaurant out side of Columbus, GA, and we always go to Luke’s Pub in Ellerslie, GA and always pass by Tommy’s Smokehouse Barbecue on GA-85. the one thing that I love is good BBQ and its hard to find it in Columbus, now don’t get me wrong, Columbus has a few good places but, its not always constant. So my first thoughts about Tommy’s Smokehouse as I was walking up to the door was I hope this is some good Q and a little different compared to the others that my a wife and I have eaten at, and it was. First off the warm good greeting you get as you walk in the door and it doesn’t feel like your a customer but it feels more like your a person they’ve known for a while. the service was wonderful and impressed with the way everyone handled everything, even the owner himself (Tommy) came out and greeted my wife and I it was a delight. Now I will say if you like or even love brisket oh man your in for a good treat its tender and very very juicy, ribs are amazing tender and full of flavor with a wonderful smoke ring, the chopped pork was amazing and the wife and I’s favorite were the pickled onions, its a must try or even have. I love the feel and comfort of this place, its a real hidden gem in my book. if your looking for a great place for BBQ Tommy’s Smokehouse would be a great place to bring family, friends and yourself. The wife and I will defiantly be going back.
