Really liked this spot! We went on a Friday at 6 and got seated without a wait but it’s small so I imagine we got lucky to be seated so soon. A little slower service so anticipate a longer stay. We spent about two hours there. Food is great, really loved the fried okra and potato ole apps. Taco bento was good, but not the best tacos I’ve ever had. Drinks are great. The menu is so wild and unique. I love the Japanese and Mexican/Soul Food clash- it somehow works so well? So strange. Love it though. It’s not cheap so don’t put it in the same box with other quick service Mexican food. The ingredients are very unique and authentic- I hadn’t heard of a large portion of the ingredients but was excited to try them. You can tell there’s a lot of love and care put into the food. If you are not picky and not stingy, you’ll love it. If you pick apart your food and want something inexpensive, this is not your place.

Fusion place downtown. Clean and cozy atmosphere. Eclectic decorations. Service was prompt and friendly without being overbearing. Food was salted pretty hard so kind of a sodium overload. Concepts are solid and food was presented well. Drinks are well though out.

A very colorful little restaurant that’s bursting with character, from the decor to the design of, and items on, the menu itself. Don’t be put off by the size of the menu; everything on it is an interesting take on something you’ve likely had before, and it’ll be made to perfection.

Went for the second time this evening for happy hour, we got a couple “meowgaritas” $2 off for happy hour! The choices they have for margarita rims are unparalleled; I got a Tart Hibiscus Sugar rim.

Finally visited after 2 months worth of trying. It’s a small location, but fortunately another restaurant they own, Cliffs, is right next door so you can wait there if Taco Gato is full. We were able to get right in and sit at the bar. The two bartenders were very friendly, attentive, and knew what they were doing. Food-wise, I had no idea what to expect. We visit LP street food and hip-stir (also owned by FNF) a LOT so we were expecting something bougie but this was just weird. My husband liked it but it was a miss in my book. Hopefully the menu will undergo some revisions and updates, as they all seem to, because I don’t see myself visiting for food again. With that being said, they do have a happy hour and the chips, queso, guac, and salsa app was very good.

We went downtown for some sushi but they wouldn’t seat us so we just walked around the block hoping to find something. We came across your place and it was awesome!!! Jasmine was super attentive and friendly as was the rest of the staff even though it was kind of late. The food was unlike anything we’ve ever had and we’ll definitely be back. On purpose this time.

Taco Gato is really good and an enjoyable place to have dinner. Drinks were great, lots of options with fresh ingredients. Our waitress, Jasmine was spot on with her recommendations and service. Prices were good based on the quality of food, location and atmosphere! Check it out, I don’t think you will be disappointed.
