Husband and I were on our way to Mount Rushmore from California. We stopped at this place that seemed to have good burgers. We ordered our food after 20+ min. I asked about our food because other people that came after us were getting their food and it turns out they somehow misplaced our order. I was so disappointed and upset that I asked for a refund. Customer service is non existent. I felt bad for the cook who issued my refund.

My family brags about this place all the time on their adventures. Great food (IF they could have gotten the sauce on my burger I asked for, also if the cheese on my bacon cheese fries wasn’t just random sliced cheese and if it was actually melted, and if they could have just put caramel in my brownie shake like I asked)…

The food was OK. The wait was long for 2 burgers with only 1 other couple in the restaurant, I still waited 25 minutes. The burgers were a little dry for being fresh. Employees were touching everything. The cashier was setting out wrappers for the burgers and was full-palm touch the center of every wrapper with her bare hands and didn’t wash them between helping the kitchen and running the register.

The food is really good but pricey. The workers are friendly. The restaurant itself is very dirty and smoky this time. Most of the tables were dirty when we looked for seating. You could see the grease and crumbs from previous patrons. The salt shaker on our table (in the Northwest corner) had so much grease and dirt on it I almost took a picture to send to a person in management. The entire restaurant needs a deep clean. The men’s bathroom was very dirty and had a strong stench of urine. There were 4 workers on shift (Sunday 6/24) we were there for about 45 minutes or so, the customers would come and go. However, when there was any downtime all but 1 worker would disappear from the front. No one ever came out to clean or wipe down any tables.

Cleanliness has been mentioned in many reviews and it was an issue the day we went. The floors were sticky in some areas (by the bar seating area) and greasy in others. The salt shakers have never been wiped down. A deep clean is needed! The cooking area seemed cleaner than the lobby.

Stopped here for lunch on the way through town. The food we got was very good but there were alot of issues within the restaurant. When we walked in we noticed lots of hand written signs stating they were out of certain items. They were out of ice, chicken, shakes, and bacon….possibly more that I cant remember. The bathroom was a wreck and was out of paper towels as well. The trash cans inside and out were overflowing. The staff was friendly but you could tell they were spread pretty thin. This place has lots of potential and with a bit more help it would be great.

This place is terrible. I stopped in for lunch on my way home and I came in to get something to eat. I was one of three people in the restaurant. Nothing but druggies working, messed up on our order, dirty restaurant with unhygienic staff members touching there bellies, hair and other body parts while making themselves food. The chicken tenders were under cooked and not safe to eat. Expensive for unsafe food items that would make you sick after eating. We went to Taco John’s and the staff their said to stay far away from WayBack Burgers.

Can’t really say about atmosphere as my dad and son went in to order. 1st. Had to take two burgers back because there was nothing on them and 2nd the meat has absolutely no seasoning, not even salt. Fries are delicious food was eh. It was barely warm and no flavor.

The food was pretty good, but the service and atmosphere were atrocious. The first thing you’ll notice is how dirty it is. Floors greasy and unswept, counters and tables were filthy, and flies everywhere.
